It’s a pipe dream. You won’t even notice the ‘changes’ they make. Barrow is certainly not Brilliant or Rising.

Funding for boys and girls teams academy with an association to the club would be decent, integrate it all with college etc..Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2026 9:44 amThey haven't got enough money to sort the Forum and Market out let alone anything else.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2026 9:39 am
Be interesting to see what Barrow Rising actually does, apart from being a Quango. Nobody seems to know.
Bae could stick there hand in the picket too..

One last team photo in the EFL, so we can all remember the worst Barrow AFC side.

Good photo, Cokey! I am as devastated as anybody by the sub-par performances by almost every player in almost every match this season. They let us down badly. However, I have to give credit where it's due and say it was big of them to mock themselves as clowns by dressing up like this for the end-of-season squad photo. Oddly though, with them dressed up in these costumes I can't make out which player is which.

If I heard it correctly yesterday on RC we had an academy all set up with FA funding but the club pulled the plug on it. Now I stand to be corrected as I was was in and out or earshot a bit but that's what I took from it.olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2026 10:50 amFunding for boys and girls teams academy with an association to the club would be decent, integrate it all with college etc..Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2026 9:44 am

There are too many youngsters being cherry picked to go to clubs out if the town. With that comes a lot of pressure on the parents and the kids themselves.. with a local academy, the kids stand a far better chance and there are and always have been exceptionally talented kids and young adults in the local area.
If funding was in place, I find it difficult to understand why it was kyboshed??

During commentary on Saturday that's what Craig Rutherford said. However, on another thread here (maybe the match thread) others have disputed how cut-and-dried it was.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 1:31 pmIf I heard it correctly yesterday on RC we had an academy all set up with FA funding but the club pulled the plug on it. As i stated on the other thread, my cousin was one of the 7 players they had ready to sign. 100% not as cut and dry, the club were right to pull it. The fact they only had 7 players ready to sign full time tells u all u need to knowbluessupporter wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 2:02 pmI think Craig might know as IIRC he was involved with it.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 1:59 pm
