So if say 5 of them have a year to run and earn 2k a week ( purely a guess, some will be on more, some less)
thats 500k in round figures.
I don't think we have that sort of money to throw around.

We can’t and surely won’t be carrying any dead wood. We did that last season and look where it got us. 🤬

Do you have another solution,How about breach of contract. If you refused to do something in any other job,you would first of all be given a verbal warning, followed by a written warning and then a final warning followed by the sack with no compensation for breach of contract, which is surely what these players were doing.

It may seem a lot of money but if we have half a team that is not putting enough effort in that will be more costly to the club in the long term. Those players are here to use maximum effort to push the club forward. If they are not prepared to do it they do not deserve to be at the club.£500,000 might seem a lot,but compared by the amount of money the club could lose out on in the long term by falling down the National League instead of pushing for promotion it is peanuts.

How many of the 18 Contracted players would you keep next season.

More than the notional cost of £500K involved. Add cost of replacements.

That’s why you get parachute payments. The whole point of them is to smooth the transition of going down.
£750k this year I believe and a total of £1.5m in 3 years.

These are two hard hitting game stats that Murray needs to address with this group of players:

We faced the most shots on target against us in the whole division (224) and at the other end managed the second lowest shots on target (137).

Problems right across the park

He’s got his work cut out for sure.

I don't think it’s effort, I just don't think they were good enough and unfortunately the January window cost us because that was the chance to try and strengthen. I dont know what game stats they were looking at to think not much was needed. This group of players were given chance after chance across 5 coaches, 7 if you include Kelly and Worrall working with them and they couldn't stop the slide. I know he’s said “clean slate” for all but he’ll know that we fell short in every area of the pitch.

Perhaps one advantage Murray might have from the outset is that the players won't be his 'mates' and they will have to prove their worth from day one. And did l read somewhere that he was bringing some Kiddie players with him?

According to the KH chairman Adam has promised not to approach them, but as someone said earlier doesn't mean agents can't seek a better deal for their players.
