I reckon Inness Cameron is worth a go this year, National League will be a lot easier and he was banging them in for Raith Rovers.

Re: Retained list
Wyll Stanway was, although loud, still just one instrument in an orchestra of failure. The root cause of relegation was never having a consistent conductor.
There's 7 or 8 I'd rather see the back of before Wyll.

Popular side since '03.

Re: Retained list
Very poetically put! And pretty much spot on - yes, the team were bobbins but you won't get anywhere without a consistent message from the dug-out, and you won't get that with a different manager in there every few weeks! Whether we've kept him on the sell or because we still think he can do a job, we've got to trust the new boss really. Both Canavan and Foley both great servants. Shame the way it ended but let's not forgot the good things they did for the club. The rest, not too fussed, although happily take Gordon on next season if that's something he'd go for.

Look forward to seeing his reception at Holker Street, against us.barrow1987 wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 6:43 pm Genuinely couldn't be happier to never see Connor mahoney in a barrow shirt again

Re: Retained list
Don't want to look at retained list if I'm honest as thay were [SwearFilter] poor and need a good long hard look at them selfs in the mirror
Love many, trust afew, but always paddle your own canoe ! My spelling is gash
Re: Retained list
I wonder whether Barky will still be on the naughty step?
I wonder if his malcontent was caused by constantly being played out of position.
We'll never no why towards the end of the season he was discarded.

A massive disappointment. Got the skill and ability to make a difference. Kept it well hidden 99% of the time.barrow1987 wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 6:43 pm Genuinely couldn't be happier to never see Connor mahoney in a barrow shirt again
1 goal and 2 assists in 40 appearances last season.
Just glad he's gone, a big one off the wage bill I imagine.

Re: Retained list
Barkhuizens attitude and body language stunk the place out last year. Irrespective of whether he played in his favourite position or not. (he had played wing back at Derby) apart from 60 minutes away at Fleetwood you could tell he simply didn't want to be here. Will be on a big wage too but no heart no fight no bottle he for me would be first of the contracted players I would look to get rid of.
Re: Retained list
If he's on a big wage it's unlikely to be matched elsewhere, even if we could find a buyer.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 8:26 amBarkhuizens attitude and body language stunk the place out last year. Its unlikely that 5 or 6 managers all had it wrong so I agree it's down to him but getting rid may be easier said than done.

Im led to believe the biggest earner at the club. He summed up the entire squad, no desire, just went through the motions. Glad to see the back of himCokey wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 8:14 amA massive disappointment. Got the skill and ability to make a difference. I think he's past it, should've only ever been given a one year contract when we signed him last July.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 8:26 amBarkhuizens attitude and body language stunk the place out last year. 33 in the Summer, probably relied on pace for most of his career and now that's leaving him. To bring out the old favourite quote "His legs have gone".
I'd be looking to move him on.

Good age for a footballer.
Re: Retained list
Apparently when he was at Preston Barky was one of the top 20 fastest players in the world.

We have another couple of wingers in their 30s too...
