Re: Paul Hornby Interview
I appreciate Paul’s honesty, it’s not easy to hold yourself accountable so publicly for his own part.
We all saw it here last year, you don’t have to be Columbo to work it out. Several raised the fact that players out injured seemed to be perpetually crocked with no date of a return (Whitfield, Hemmings, Raglan et al. That’s explained now.
As well as the obvious player power, if you have two cliques giving guidance on appointing coaches, one to Wood and one to Hornby then that’s a red flag. In no line of anything professional, be that football or more widely, should your players/staff have a say in their management. Madness.

I am reminded of the old police ABC methodology - Assume nothing, Believe no one, Check everything. Wise words for many situations - even stabbings.
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

Obviously the stuff about Wood is shocking but it’s clear the board completely took their eye off the ball
Re: Paul Hornby Interview
Even Inspector Clouseau would find all this quite bizarre, but hopefully the minkey is now off our backs after a calamitous season.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2026 6:42 am I am reminded of the old police ABC methodology - Assume nothing, Believe no one, Check everything. Re: Paul Hornby Interview
Well that was a bizarre listen if ever there was one.
He sounded quite smug in his mid-season one following Whing's departure and Galllagher's appointment. It was all stats this, players love him that. Didn't end too well though did it.
Not so this time round to be fair.
So plenty of lessons to be learnt and hopefully a timekeeper appointed at the new training facility!
Can't wait for the next episode.

Re: Paul Hornby Interview
The culture in the club didn't sound much better when Pete Wild was here if Tom Whites recent interviews are anything to go by.

I know 2 lads playing in the championship. 1 in the conference and the Kitman of an efl side and this banter is pretty tame compared to what goes on

Since the Wilkie days, this club has had two good managers. Evatt and Wild. That's just fact.

Re: Paul Hornby Interview
What a total disaster last season was, if we could replace the owners who were to blame for everything that took us down I would but we all know other interested parties ready to invest are not coming in, to throw away our league status is unforgivable, pathetic decisions on giving certain people the run of the Club was always going to end the way it did, recruitment of players and handing out good contracts again was a disaster, unless we get back within 2 seasons while the parachute payments are not to bad we never will. Just makes me sick after all those years trying to get back we just hand our league status back with such ease, shame on you all.

Edmo had a golden period of time with us too that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Yep, Bayliss and Shezza should be added to that very small list.
Gods’ former athlete.
