Paul Hornby is a director of a private limited company called Barrow Bluebirds Limited, the nature of that business is as a sports club. We are the customers.
It's great that Paul keeps us informed of things and admits mistakes were made but it is literally none of our business how he and the other directors run this loss making company. Some of this criticism and indignation is playing with fire in my opinion; one other director has recently thrown the towel in and if Paul Hornby arises one morning and thinks ' why do l bother?' there will be no Barrow AFC anymore.
United we stand, divided we fall.
Paul Hornby and the Board have done their best.
He is obviously good at figures but not at waying people up
We seem to forget what people we've had running the club in the past.
One money laundering another used to used to bill the club for things he wanted rid off.
I am interested in the theory that people statements are getting removed.
Paul did mention North Korea !!!
Having said that I am sure I saw Paul Hornby wearing a Ushanka in November.
No one will ever stop me thinking we were part of a betting scandal.
New season ,new start and we have to win as many games as we can.
Murray seems hungry so let's hope it is reflected on the pitch.performance.

You're quite right, no one will ever stop you thinking that - even though it's complete and utter bo!!ocks. We were badly managed and useless, that's all.Pedro wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 3:35 pmNo one will ever stop me thinking we were part of a betting scandal.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 10:45 am

He's liable to pay off debts and guarantee things like employee wages until a replacement is found.

Re: Paul Hornby Interview
He isn't. The club hasn't been sustainable in any season since Hornby came in without owners putting money in to cover operating losses. He could walk away stop putting money in and just put the club into administration and then hand it over to the administrators as like Mel Morris dd with Derby County.Always Ultra wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 4:48 pm He's liable to pay off debts and guarantee things like employee wages until a replacement is found.

Yes it's interesting now Tony Shearer has stepped down does that mean.any debt we have to fund is only funded by the remaining board members?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 6:42 pmHe isn't. Re: Paul Hornby Interview
Hornby in his interview touched on Shearer stepping away but was unsure how that would look going forward saying that all needed to be worked through. Id be surprised if Shearer supported the club financially in the same way as has when being a director but time will tell I guess.Pedro wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 6:51 pmYes it's interesting now Tony Shearer has stepped down does that mean.any debt we have to fund is only funded by the remaining board members?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 6:42 pm

Re: Paul Hornby Interview
I don't think the impact of this relegation has truly hit home yet. Once that parachute payment dries up and playing Chelsea in the Caraboa cup (whilst top of the league) is nothing but a distant memory, my concern as a fan is that we’ll never reach those heights again. We've probably got one good go at this next season
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Reading the Forum/Barrow Fans Facebook Group Can't decide who is hated more Hornby or Stanway.
Re: Paul Hornby Interview
No it's realism we walked into relegation whistling always look on the bright side of life..
To say last season was like a amateur operatic association would be insulting the Thespians.
It's highlighting how important it is to get back into the league first time while we have the first years parachute payment.
I know planning is not one of our great points and that's why we have had so many Charlatans at the club

Hate is to strong a word imo. I don’t detect any hatred at all just people voicing differences of opinions especially regarding Hornbys recent interviewsbehind the goals wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2026 10:14 amReading the Forum/Barrow Fans Facebook Group Can't decide who is hated more Hornby or Stanway.

Re: Paul Hornby Interview
Can we now draw a line under this. It,s a new season with a new manager and a lot of new players and hopefully a better outlook.

There’s a lot to get over, people heal at different rates. Let them heal in their own time. Maybe a few decent results from the off will help somewhat.Methuselah wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2026 12:06 pm Can we now draw a line under this. It,s a new season with a new manager and a lot of new players and hopefully a better outlook.
