Re: Reality Bites
We’ve been a non league club for the vast majority of most posters lifetimes; looking forward to just enjoying going to Holker Street again and winning a few games, last season was utterly depressing

Re: Reality Bites
This being our anniversary it would be fitting if we win the league and go straight back up.
Murray seems to be organised and the hope for me is he gets us back up.and stays another season at least.

Re: Reality Bites
Seems like the manager is big on fitness and tempo. Something that was sadly lacking last season.
Any of the left over players from the relegation squad will probably clear off if they can't stomach the hard work but if they put in the required effort fair play to them.
Feeling optimistic and ready for the battles ahead.

Re: Reality Bites
Last season quite a lot of players seemed to lack energy over 90 minutes, or were completely knackered by the end of the match.Rushy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2026 11:42 am Seems like the manager is big on fitness and tempo. Something that was sadly lacking last season.

If that’s right, maybe some of it was due to poor strength and conditioning behind the scenes, or alternatively some just didn’t have the natural engine (remember Jack Hindle, to name but one in the past?)
So far Murray has put a lot of emphasis on fitness. If he selects some of last season’s players it will be interesting to see if they put themselves about a bit more.

Re: Reality Bites
WG, I hope that figure's not meant to represent our keeper for next season (whoever it might be . . . ).
He's not having much success catching hold of all those objects flying past him, towards him, and around him. I hope they don't represent balls and goals.

Re: Reality Bites
That’s a very worrying perception there PJ but one many of us may well be sharing. All l can add is that there are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.pjdaly wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2026 10:07 am WG, I hope that figure's not meant to represent our keeper for next season (whoever it might be . . . ).

I know PH reads this stuff so he will know the knowns and the unknowns thar knows.
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

Re: Reality Bites
With just over 3 weeks until the season starts i hope we can ship 2 out and bring 2 in in the next week so it gives a couple of weeks for the full squad to train and gel i feel another forward is a must Reid and Rose might give us around 10/15 goals each hopefully Cameron im unsure of this level might suit him better

Re: Reality Bites
All of the current squad should be capable of playing non-league football don't see any worries, we could be a top half side hopefully.
Re: Reality Bites
I would be happy to watch a few home wins and some decent football
Just say no to VAR

Yes, but fitness and motivation are key.behind the goals wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2026 8:54 pm All of the current squad should be capable of playing non-league football don't see any worries, we could be a top half side hopefully.
Several of the squad from last season have the talent, but lacked the above.
