Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
Murray said we have a very good budget and it was clear he was referencing last season's players when he talked about weak attitude. Trouble is, that can permeate to the newer recruits and the sense of inevitability.
It's clear we have to shift some but he sounded somewhat resigned to the fact that if they don't want to move on it becomes very difficult and it hampers further recruitment.

Don't let the old man in.
Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
Its bizarre that seemingly Barrows main play maker is PK at centre half.
The amount of time that play was glued to one side and the switch never so much as thought about. Hornchurch weren’t a good side either. Decision making was poor throughout.
This “physical, tough to play side” is actually quite weak and easy to play against.
Winterbottom and Jackson need to go. Two massive weak links.

Let’s not single out individuals. It’s a team game and collectively we weren’t good enough and the football was slow and indecisive.Hornchurch didn’t even press us, so help us when a side goes into us hard for possession.

Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
What did people expect - we are a club with a half baked structure - I’m not calling for anyone to go guess it will take time but the problem is more desp rooted that just the players
No structure
No real training base
No identity
No ambition
I’m no longer bothered about results life is too short we had the six years in the league let’s just find our level now I’d rather the club simply become sustainable to just enjoy going to the games. I think the northern premier 1st division is about the level the clubs structure would support.

+1.
They didn't even know who was going to take a corner in extra time, whilst losing.
Very disappointing.

All-time bad situation.
Cameron worked his arse off with no service.
Only real positive was we now leave men up on defensive corners.
The mess isn't Murray's fault. The club's issues run way deeper.

Murray blaming " last seasons" players.
How many started? 4?
Team selection and in partucular tactics are HIS remit.
A bad workman blames his tools.

Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
Murray can blame last seasons players as much as he wants but smith, Williams and winterbottom weren’t too bad, limited yes but not bad. It’s the shite he’s signed from bottom half conference south sides that were gash. Is Reid injured? Or was that signing on the board?
Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
If we cant score goals when we get good chances then it’s down to one thing-. Quality
67% possession v 33%
11 shots v 4
5 on target v 3
8 corners v 3
It’s not game tactics that has let us down today. At no point did i feel we were hanging on or being outplayed (same as last week v Hartlepool), yet we get beat again.
I am not suggesting the above stats show we were unlucky, but the poor finishing in front of goal has cost us (again)

Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
I really have tried to look at Jackson and Smith in a different light, but sweet Jesus.
Jackson will NEVER be a footballer. He's completely useless and is stealing a wage. I was never convinced by Smith but I heard others talk well of him...they were full of shite.
That was a sweet shot by Kizzy(?) but it was like he was Moses the way everything in front of him just parted.

Both Smith and Jackson were / are useless.
Jackson kept hitting the first man with crosses and as for Smith....
Worryingly, Murray thinks they are better than Whitfield and Marriott!!!
Re: Barrow v Hornchurch match thread
Wow that Murray interview at 2 games in is very concerning. He’s blaming everything - club, player mentality, last season’s players, hangover from last season etc etc. Everything but himself and new recruitment. I also dont like the body language - he cant look into the camera, there must be something very interesting going on to his left as that is the only place he can look!
Whingy did a similar interview last season during the bad run where he threw the players under the bus and he never came back from that.

It's all awful and bad to watch.
Can see Harrogate putting at least 5 goals past us.

How Ben Jackson isnt playing on Ormsgill pitch 2 for Barrow Celtic reserves is beyond me. He is so so bad! He should have been one of the 1st to be told to move on
Cameron is not the answer, he will be on loan at Cowdenbeath come January. FFS get a striker in
