It’s not just the style but what was more worrying was some of the basic passing we got wrong at times, the touches. Kalambayi playing it out when it was a simple 10 yard pass to Oakley stands out. Oakley himself wasn’t great on the ball for me. Long balls to Danny Rose are never going to be effective either.
What we did do well for the most part was win second balls and compete. And the effort cannot be questioned which at times last year it was. Marriott I thought was industrious in midfield and hopefully Ward can be the player who allows us to play a bit more and control it more. Today was very chaotic at times and it could’ve been anything. Harrogate commentary ex player Bolland wasn’t very complimentary but I see as much shirt pulling going on in the premier league at boxes and it’s just become a part of the game now as long as refs don’t deal with it. Hopefully the manner of our equaliser acts as a bit of a turning point and kick starts things a bit. Really need to follow it up now by beating Yeovil at home, no easy game they’ll be up for it after a 3-0 win. Hopefully get a big crowd in for the Friday night and give them something to cheer.

Good point in the end, the refs in the National League see the game different and at times it`s baffling someone will get a serious injury, both sides were guilty of poor tackles but the one on Oakley should have been a straight red not play on, on our style it`s up to fans to decide if it`s worth watching or not and if a few on here don`t want to attend games so be it, it`s non-league football now get use to it.

Remind me….., what style did we play when getting promotion from the National league ?

We had much better players under Evatt we don`t now, can`t ever see us playing that style again I agree our style isn`t a good watch.

No one can fault our attacking intent for the first three games. The quality has been lacking at key moments but the intent is there.

For anyone who is interested in stats that’s the third game of the season that we’ve been on top in possession, corner kicks and getting shots in.

I’m not swerving the poor opening two results but do recognise that we are being more positive with the ball and looking to win it back when out of possession more in three games than we were for the entire latter half of last season. That is a start right? Don’t forget the low confidence environment he’s come into.

As for Barracelona- the games moved on from that style at all levels. Even at the top end of the game we are seeing more direct, longer throws, counters with pace and advancing keepers used as sweepers.

Barracelona, Pete wild and evatt should be banned words on here. So many people clinging on to things of the past, its incredibly frustrating.

It’s better than last year.

Feels like a win. Let’s take that into the next game.

Strangely enough i remember speaking to people at start of Evatts reign who were saying we’re lightweight and no bottle etc.

I could see we’d be alright as signs were there.

Confidence is a hell of a drug.

I stopped watching at 2-1.
Stopped them playing by any means.
If we had this determination last year we would not be in this league.

That comeback should give us a boost.

Commentor complained we were physical but it got the job done.

think a last minute equaliser is about as good as it’s going to get against that horrible nuisance of a football club, i think I can finally retire from this fixture.

great battling away performance, yes lots of mistakes and very non leaguey but as Murray says nice to see opposition fans whining at our style. Definitely channeled his inner Paul Cox the way we battled to the end and got an away point after everything was going against us.

I think this lot expected us to go there and play fluffy stuff and hit us for four, we got it spot on. As for tough and physical, think they picked up more yellows, got away with a red and yet they complain….As big Innes might say after his goal. “Get it up ye”

Yeah I just heard that, it’s right at the end of the vid, thought he handled it quite well tbh. He’s almost got this David Brent style response to it.
