When we made our final sub rose sprinted along the touch line and down the tunnel like he’d realised he had left the oven on at home

The effort and intensity was there, but it did seem at times to be a bit (to use an old phrase) kick and rush. We didn't have many players, if anyone, who would make a measured pass. A lot of passes were first time flicks or kicks in the general direction of another player, often not very accurate, or bouncing and hard to control. We desperately need a midfield general who can find space and distribute accurate passes.

Walker has been a disappointment to me, not the fast direct winger that was advertised.

We wasted far too many of our set pieces. I think four corners in succession in the first half were blasted too long and one even managed to be sent directly behind. At Harrogate last week, Ward placed a pinpoint corner for Cameron to head the equaliser, yet after he came on we persisted with Amos taking the corners. Why?

Murray said in his post match interview with AJ that MJ has a groin strain that will also mean he misses Monday at Kidderminster

Rose should be straight onto his agent to get him out of here. Cameron is one of the worst players ive seen play for Barrow and ive seen some shockers. I dont get why Murray persists with playing left backs on the left wing? Just dont get it.

I thought Smith and Marriott looked good together in midfield but we are still missing that spark as Harper isnt the answer

Still utterly baffles me how Jackson,Harper and Whitfield wernt the 1st to be told to do one. I get they have contracts before others jump in but they have and still are woeful

Im confident we will finish mid table, but we need to stick with Murray (for now)

After watching that last night it seems so flat .
In general I think we look robust and decent at the back
The midfield seem to run out of gas after 70 mins
There is very little creativity from the wide players and there is no cutting edge .
I think there is something to build on but how Crankshaw and Rose dont start is strange

Cameron is shocking. For those with a memory he is the new Graham Gill.
Whitfield is passed his sell by date. He has never captured the form from his first spell here and what pace he had isn’t there anymore for me.
Harper has the height the physique to be a footballer but sadly for me he just does not have the desire or ability

Almost every time I left Holker Street last season I felt angry but not upset . . . angry because almost always we had produced limp performances with little passion, commitment and effort, but not exactly upset because my thinking was we had just simply got what we deserved, another beating.

Last night was the opposite. I was not angry because I was impressed with so much of what we offered but I was upset because it was rough justice and we didn't deserve to come away pointless.

Yes, we still need to address why we aren't sticking some of our ample chances away. Yes, we have to look at why we allowed space for their last-gasp winner. Yes, we have to talk about game-management to the very last minute of a match. But I am thinking more about how any self-respecting referee can call a good tackle a foul and give a free-kick that led to their winner. I wonder if that referee has ever tackled anyone in his life?

Leo might come on here with his customary little joke, "Murray out", as he has been doing for donkey's years in respect of every manager we have had. But if Murray can continue to get that level of commitment out of our team I would prefer to say "Murray, stay - - - for a very long time". Obviously there is much work to do but there was a lot to be positive about despite the crushing nature of the loss.

I would say "get your heads up, you can be proud of so much tonight". The application, effort, professional commitment, was immensely impressive. I am positive, despite having my guts wrenched out by what happened at the end.

Totally agree. We are very hit and hope and lack any sort of control in a game, none of our midfield can hold the ball and slow things down which is what was needed at 1-0. It’s one thing to push for a second but we left gaps and never looked comfortable. Keaton Ward looks the only one in there with any quality on the ball and he should be starting on Monday for me over Scott Smith who just isn’t up to it. Amazing to think that he came from league 1. Harper seems incapable of playing for 90 minutes and with our high pressing is left blowing.

Walker has pace but little else from what I can see. No end product, poor crossing and as others said he hits it too early but he was a threat if only his final ball was better. A big step up from National north though - maybe he’ll improve but right now not good enough. Reid put a peach of a cross in second half which he Walker had to score from but didn’t.
I still think Whitfield is the only player we have that cav really put a good cross in, and as mentioned some of our set plays were a total waste. Start Ward and get him on them and as Harrogate showed if you get a good delivery into the box then you’ve got a chance.
