Good game and a great result. Turns out a bit of football, a bit of physicality and a bit of luck is all you need. Seems the Manager was right all along!

More positives than negatives today. We rode our luck when they looked a gift horse in the mouth. We won most of our battles, not sure where the six yellows came from. We are still very much a work in progress but plenty of optimism. Marriott head and shoulders above anyone else on the field good game by MJ too.
Another injury though, big Innis this time

Each league game we’ve got a little better each time, this is just what we can hope for so if it keeps going in this direction I feel very positive for the season….

Good game today. The first home game I have enjoyed for a long time. Not great quality but a very good result

Technical difficulties were to blame for the lack of Music ahead of kick off today. Apologies - Bailey (Stadium announcer)

On that subject Bailey l have to report the we can't hear much in the way of announcements in the Holker End only a muffled echo from other parts of the ground. It was the same v Yodel. Maybe needs a new battery but I'm no expert.

Maybe its just me, but I feel the criticism of Walker is a bit overdone. Yes, like most wingers he sometimes runs up blind alleys, but he still got some decent crosses in, particularly in the first half. He works hard, and is often available as an out ball for the defence. As for Ben Whitfield, that was by far his best performance of the season, but he needs to keep doing it.

Brilliant game, I take it all back; play like that over the season and well do just fine .

Since the thread is much quieter than it has been after a defeat recently, what was your personal highlight of today? Whitfield getting back on the score sheet and a manager who fist bumps being a personal choice

Hands up, I was otherwise very much otherwise occupied last Saturday and didn't catch any of the Kidderminster match either by eyes or by ears. So the only thing I had to go on was this Forum and it seemed that post after post after post suggested it was RIP Barrow (for this season at least). I was taken aback by this because in the Yeovil match we had played well, aside from the ghost marking for their winner.

So, given how bad we apparently were at Kidderminster it set me up to fear the worst today. But we played well! Yes, we were helped by what has now been officially recognised as the greatest miss ever in football history which simply had to put them 1-0 up. That aside, they never had a sniff and we outplayed them. It's important to point out that we weren't just muscular and strong but played some very neat football at times. The much derided Smith was excellent . . . okay, some distance short of The George Standard, but a very good performance nonetheless. Now that we've got the sloth off our backs (probably not allowed to use the traditional expression in these politically neurotic times) I don't merely want us to go on a run but expect us to do a bit of an Ann Packer. Whilst what I've said is probably slothist, I'm sure Ann would be amused if she knew I'd referenced her. In plain English, I think we can come from near the back of the field (next to bottom at the start of today) and go on to do well.

Excellent stuff; was it perfect? No, but football rarely is. Obviously they somehow missed that chance that was horrendous defending again, and I’m still not sure Latty Fairweather is a forward player but other than that it was good stuff all round really. Another good performance and the clinical finishing as well; wasn’t it great to walk out of Holker Street buzzing?!

We move up five places in the league with a convincing, battling team performance with three well-taken goals, two from open play, and some excellent defending. The first goal came from a Ward left-hand corner, Williams poking in at the far post in the 18th minute. The other two were superb strikes from the right by Marriott (78 minutes) and Whitfield (97 minutes)

Three goals and a clean sheet indicates that the Bluebirds are on track for a much-needed revival and hopefully it is now “onwards and upwards”.

There were two changes from the starting eleven at Kidderminster, Latty-Fairweather replacing the injured Crankshaw, and Smith replacing Digie.

We rode our luck early on when a 5th minute breakaway caught us out, with Folarin in front an open goal. His chip hit the bar when it would have been far easier to score.

After this let-off, our promising build-ups continued but again with little incisiveness with the final ball. It took an excellent 18th minute inswinging corner by Ward to make the first breakthrough, MJ Williams bundling in at the far post.

Walker was now putting in some fine crosses with no-one taking advantage. Further corners by Ward for the left and Oakley played short from the right came to nothing and the worry was that we would again struggle to get that second goal.

Cameron went down in the 35th minute and struggled on from the remainder of the half, being booked in the 45th minute, and he was replaced by Reid at the break. Apart from Winterbottom saving a Byron shot in the 41st minute, the visitors had offered little since that early miss.

Sutton then threw everything at us early on in the second half. Within two minutes, Kalambayi was booked. Six minutes in, Winterbottom tipped over a Topalloj corner from the right as it headed for the far corner. A third Barrow booking, this time Oakley, followed for a foul on Folarin in the 59th minute.

At this stage Sutton had no bookings but this changed two minutes later when Francis was carded for a foul on Smith.

Sutton then made three changes in the 62nd minute. Njoku, Ogbonna and Mussa coming on for Folarin, Francis and the captain, Taylor. We replaced Latty-Fairweather with Whifield.

A minute later, Sutton’s Kirk went down injured and, after lengthy treatment, was replaced by Bell.

The match became ever more feisty and this stage and the crowd and players howled for a rad when MJ Williams was elbowed in the 76th minute. Ogbonna got away with a yellow.

Vengeance came swiftly in a more positive way. From the restart a quick break by Walker saw Marriott fire in from the right for 2-0 in the 78th minute.

Two minutes later, Digie came on for Walker but would be booked in the 83rd minute following a bad tackle by Babalola on Kalambayi. Again, the crowd bayed for a red but it was yellow- and presumably another for Digie for retribution. Amos had also been booked just before all that kicked off!

Sutton again threw everything at Barrow and only some excellent blocks and tackles resulted on our sheet remaining clean. Mussa came close in the 87th minute but his shot was well blocked.

Two minutes later, Urpens of the long throws was booked for a challenge on Amos, and then Marrott was carded for fouling Mussa. 6 yellows for Barrow and 4 for Sutton- and Sutton got away with two borderline reds!

In the first minute of added time a Whitfield strike from the right was deflected out for a corner. Ward’s corner came to nothing and, two minutes later down the other end, an Ogbonna effort was blocked and Osadebe blasted over.

The match was settled at 3-0 in the 7th of 11 minutes of added time when Whitfield matched Marrott’s earlier excellent strike from the right.

The crowd was 2,354 including 43 from Sutton. Marriott was awarded man of the match (before Whitfield’s late goal) for his own superb effort, although Smith had an especially good game today in an excellent team performance. After a team huddle, there was a lengthy ovation from the fans.

Note to the club, the tannoys all over the ground are awful, echoes in the popular side, cant hear what hes saying half the time
