Well done lads you got the job done, there are no easy games thats for sure. Let’s keep building momentum we have no fear going to the Gills this will be our chance to cause an upset.
Well done to Chris tonight you gave a very good account of yourself more than ably supporting AJ.
Chuft for the club getting a few bob now let’s get to round two.

Shout out to Gloucester they showed what the competition means and gave a more than creditable performance over the two games. Hopefully that should inspire us for our trip to Gillingham.

Gloucester had a plan and executed it fairly well, so made it a tricky cup tie in the end. Got over the line though, and unbeaten in 7.

National League Clubs all came through tonight apart from Gateshead who lost 5-0 at Northern Premier League-West Division Side Stafford Rangers. Tonight again shows that teams in lower leagues will not be rolled other Gloucester losing a man helped us, good to see Allen scoring again.

Deserved win tonight, the red card definitely helped, but AM won't be happy with the needless free-kicks and defensive lapses late on, need to be more clinical in the final third an'all
Re: Gloucester City v Barrow match thread
Job done and well deserved over the two games.
Second half we started strong and hit the post, had a goal not given by a woeful linesman before an awful late tackle on Cameron and a red card made it a little easier for us. I don’t think it changed too much though until the latter part when there was a little bit more space, which Allen aside we didn’t take full advantage of. Credit to Gloucester I thought they looked decent tried to play and caused us a few problems, as well as a few being of our own doing. They might’ve got a goal and probably should but we had a hell of a lot of shots and in the end got the breakthrough off a corner.
Job done but will need to be much better on Saturday. And af Gillingham…

Thought Adam Murray’s after match club interview was very impressive. Some Gloucester fan is trying to give him stick off mic and Adam says we need to pray for him he’s clearly very angry.
Re: Gloucester City v Barrow match thread
I like the way that when the tackle went in on Cameron which was a terrible tackle totally unnecessary on the corner flag almost, that all the players piled in and maybe that swayed the ref a little into giving the red. There’s definitely a good spirit amongst them and that comes from Murray. Maybe not the best technically but they work hard and we’ve a few players who have a way of getting up peoples noses players and opposition fans. That’s not something we’ve had for a long time.FanzoneFan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 11:27 pm Thought Adam Murray’s after match club interview was very impressive. Re: Gloucester City v Barrow match thread
Just watched Murray’s post match comments on YouTube.
Yes he’s doing well, and I quite like him.
I do think he’s too animated in those inevitable interviews though.
Whing was the arch exponent of face pulling, tugging, twitching and ultimately it was a revelation of his inadequacies.
I hope Murray doesn’t end up in that category.
I think he needs to be a bit calmer when asked predictably asinine questions.
None of the best managers in the game are prone to looking left, right, picking at their face, ears and nose, and making comedy expressions when dealing with media enquiries. Check out those successful bosses worldwide.
Just not football classy. No need for it the way things are going.

The “successful” bosses you speak of have all been media trained to the hilt - most are more qualified than myself
Public speaking isn’t for everyone - I’ve been doing it for years be it school, bingo, radio
Even I twitch etc whilst doing interviews.
I think you are over analysing body language wayyy too much
