Jonty you're right but the board made a judgement call on recruitment for financial reasons which I understand BUT this strategy has back fired big time!
Is that you waiting until Saturday before judging Nige?
Yeah listen I get where you're coming from but I try to be fair and give Whing a chance, I hate his tactics etc , but now we've got players back he's got to start delivering, if we say lose but give it everything that's not good but I can live with that but if it's another display like the last 2 games then he has to go !

It’s his team . We are never going to be a team full of stars - the Barrow manager has to add value - to make the whole more than the sum of the parts - with good leadership, blood , guts and determination we can punch above our collective weight. He needs to improve it quickly .

Fair enough, I saw this as an opportunity to do some of that delivering. I was there and Walker doesn't put himself about enough, we've had the best of Whitfield and Gordon already so unless one of the injured strikers pulls up trees we are in big trouble.

No your gut feel is usually right. Anyway, I've had enough of this one for tonight. Saturday’s another game, but right now I don’t see how this improves.

Defence is awful but midfield simply aren't helping
I’m guessing Wigan must have played 3 out and out central midfielders like we did with Gotts, Campbell and Spence; every team we play seems to have a spare man in midfield at the moment…..but then also Walker (or whoever else is the one up front) ends up isolated

What has this game got to do with Saturday? FFS some people!
Now now let’s not fall out amongst ourselves we are all brasses off by situation.Just listened to managers interview. He seems to know who is trying and who is just going through the motions.Lets see if things improve on pitch Saturday. If not I fear trouble ahead but hope I am wrong.

I'm pretty sure we are 1 of 2 teams who play 3 at the back and 1 up front (Barnet are the other).. Our midfield should be where WE have spare men since this is the case, but we get over-run most games

On the one hand we're relying on players being told to take it easy. On the other we aren't because they weren't but the manager knows who can't be bothered. We all want to stay in the EFL and we're clutching at straws.

I know it's the Michael Mouse Cup but I said at the start of the thread why it could be a catalyst and it really hasn't been. We are in the mire.

Getting close to a lot more than that for a decent cross to go into the box

Unfortunately he’s about as good as the captain of the Titanic.

Sometimes in life despite the obvious qualities of a person as a likeable human they just don’t cut the mustard in the life skill they set themselves.

Andy Whing came with a fine English mustard appeal, unfortunately he hasn’t quite cut it.

If we continue down the root of giving a manager clearly out of his depth more time the deeper in the mire we will be.

We always look for two teams (basket cases included) to stave off relegation to the abyss but unfortunately there aren’t any worse than us.

Whing has to go, difficult like any sacking of a manager is (he does seem a nice guy) for us to turn this season around it needs to happen now.

Here’s hoping we can turn this sinking ship away from the non league iceberg.

Can’t believe nobody thinks Ian Wood is the issue.

Two poor seasons of recruitment, secured his job on a directors board and handed the keys to the club.

You know people like Barkhauzen, Walker , Smith , Mahoney , Earing , Harper , Hemmings aren’t playing for free because they love the club. They are all on good whacks , recruitment has been horrendous.

What do we except Andy Whing to do with what he’s been given?

Watch Booty when we are out of possession. Absolutely clueless. Teams go round him like he,s an old lady. He's always 5 yards away from putting a tackle in. When he's on the pitch we are effectively playing a 2 man midfield and that causes more gaps because the other two are getting pulled out of position to cover for him.
Definitely in the not good enough category as whing puts it.
