couldn't disagree more strongly - a positive manager imposing positive attitudes on the squad is again showing the sort of promise that the squad displayed at the start of the season.

I'm with you on this Hadrian. I don't agree for one moment that the squad is "utter, utter, utter garbage." We have some good players and I think everyone knows the problem has been our total inability to get forward and pose a goal threat. I think the recent evidence has shown that the problem has been our approach to games rather than the personnel. Back in September we were looking useful - - - not top-of-the-table stuff but very capable of holding our own in this league. I think of the stirring second half against Newport when we overwhelmed them. At that stage it seemed we might trouble the play-offs. But around that time something changed and it changed badly. I think that "something" was in the psyche of Mark Cooper and only he perhaps might be able to explain why. We became ultra-cautious in our play to the point where we almost looked frightened to attack. We stopped scoring and the morale of the whole squad fell off a cliff. It was as if both players and fans didn't believe we could score goals. To paraphrase Paul Simon in a footballing context, "scorelessness like a cancer grows". I think a sweeping paranoia about our hopelessness up front damaged the whole squad and of course it affected defenders too as they must have thought they could not afford to concede even once as it would mean game over.

I believe there is more quality in the squad than that drought period suggested. Of course that's not to say we should just go with the current bunch and not try to strengthen for next season - - - it's just to cut them some slack and say there's far more quality in the squad than the phrase "utter, utter, utter garbage" would suggest.

For me the change came after the two all draw with Walsall. Not sure what happened but from then onwards until Forest Green at home we were treading water at best.

15 goals a season? Where you getting that from, fella? Can you name a club he's scored 15 goals a season for? And if you're referring to Barrow - can you see into the future?

one goal every 3 games would equate to 15 goals over a 46 game reason

and should never have been signed or accepted on loan!

If we can't sign a quality striker like Norwood I'd like to see us sign a young striker (who has a record of scoring goals in the lower leagues) give him a chance to shine in EFL Div 2. If we stick with that trio of shit* I've mentioned we will have the same problem next season

No chance of getting James Norwood here on his wages...most likely he'll go back to Tranmere or even another L1 club.

It’s the fact, he’s our main striker(allegedly) we are almost relying on him to keep us in the football league, and I have no confidence he will score, ever. He’s had chances but actually looks scared when he gets an opportunity. He never controls the ball and attempts to take on the defender, has he actually had a shot on target? I guess his record of 14 goals in 11 seasons says it all, there are goalkeepers with better stats
