Re: Stockport v Barrow match thread
From where I was sitting and many around me the ball went clearly out of play and was kicked back in by a Stockport player. The home crowd were baying for a penalty every time their player went down. Pleased the ref kept to the rules and awarded us a free kick.

The view from Stockport. Pretty much what you'd expect when it was supposed to be 'their day':

Don't let the old man in.

Not conclusive from this angle in the video, but you can see why the linesman couldn't give it from where he was. But from where I was, looking more or less directly along the line, it was 100% out of play.Arvo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 11:15 amThis fan-made video tends to support that the ball was fully out of play before the player crossed for the non-penalty (around 11:34).mulholland wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:27 am Outstanding first half performance, one of the best ever imo. However, a full 96 minutes of wat is a worrying trend of abysmal match officialdom. We won 4-2 in bookings in what wasn't a dirty game by any stretch of the imagination. Some bizarre decisions throughout. Ball clearly out right in front of the linesmans eyes as well before the stockport player crossed it in the last couple of minutes that led to the pen that never was. The players are getting better at this level, the officials are heading in the opposite direction.

What a bulb, doubt he will see what a knob he’s been, not on his own though looking back on this thread.beachy01 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:04 pmHes just desperate to stay relevant on a little forum, sad sad person is our Matt, every thread he posts on is about the 'tmf' or about kids. Good report, well-written and pretty fair on the whole. It mentions James Brown and I must say, from listening to commentary at least, he did seem to change the game for Stockport in the second half.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 2:55 pm The view from Stockport. Re: Stockport v Barrow match thread
Unbelievable first 45, something we’ve seen very little of for the past two seasons.
Giving that early second half goal away give County exactly what they needed, they absolutely battered us for the whole of second half. The ball near the end was out….clearly out. If they’d got a penalty from that it would’ve been so hard to take.
Really like the look of Foley, very impressed by that signing.
Great day out, good pub beforehand and a fantastic start to the season.
As our coach was the furthest back we saw the trouble unfold right in front of us, can only hope the lad who was hurt is ok and makes a full recovery.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Wish the the lad a speedy recovery, Hope the likes of Fazered etc will pipe down in future, don’t judge until you know the facts.
Re: Stockport v Barrow match thread
Having seen the highlights, Warren's last-ditch tackle in injury time deserves far more praise! Incredible.

What a great decision for offside before the penalty shout. Also what a tackle for the first appeal!Arvo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 11:15 amThis fan-made video tends to support that the ball was fully out of play before the player crossed for the non-penalty (around 11:34).mulholland wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:27 am Outstanding first half performance, one of the best ever imo.
