The Fylde owner deserves his club to be relegated for his pathetic personal attack on Evo in their match-day programme. Total lack of class. Lucky Evo didn't punch his lights out. Good riddance.
I agree with Jim - my sympathies are with the employees and fans rather than having feelings towards their owner. Same with employees and fans of other clubs who will be facing disappointment at the outcome of the 2019-20 season and hoping we will not be joining in such disappointment.

Much as it got up my nose to be told over the last few years what a great role model Fylde were for us, and much as it annoyed me that they tried to buy our manager, perhaps we should be humble and have sympathy for their fans. As we know all too well, and all too often, it is a horrible feeling to see the club you support relegated. There but for the grace of God....etc.
They support Blackpool really, so they're probably not too bothered.
Actually it was an off-the-cuff remark Jim and yes sympathy is due to fans of all relegated clubs and especially to those 7 Fylde fans that made their heroic journey to Barnet not so long ago. The problem essentially with Fylde is that it is owned lock, stock and barrel by one man who uses it as his personal vehicle for self-promotion - his thoughts on coronavirus in the Blackpool Gazette now extend to twenty interviews. As such he is a very divisive figure even within his own community.
If Fylde do get relegated then it will be the first time ever in their history. There's part of me that believes that the culture of a club is built not only on its successes but also its failures and mistakes. It may test the locals true level of support, but their club would become the better for it.

at least one Sutton fan (kpinwp on their forum)* is slightly sad that a decision is imminent;-
" It also means that the 114 page (page, not post) thread on the Barrow fans' forum concerning the likelihood of their promotion will slowly come to a halt.
It's an erudite epic of a thread. A magnificent thread. Its impending conclusion makes me feel a little bit sad."
*amended to immortalise kpinwp in the thread he likes..

"Erudite"? That can't possibly be true. I thought we were all neanderthals in a god-forsaken land that time forgot.

I hope he paid due tribute to Suffolk Blue with a little help from his friends!
Will today be the day we finally find out the future direction?

So long and diverse is this thread that I think the idea of turning it into a musical has already been mentioned.
I understand Elton John might be interested in writing the music, Tim Rice the lyrics. In a tribute that equates the Football Pyramid with a 20th century South American dictatorship, I believe its going to be called "Evatta". Apparently an amusing cameo by Harry Enfield playing Deadly Dave.

Yes, I also heard that. I got told Elton is writing a song dedicated to Ian Evatt's old Ford, its called 'Don't Cry For MyOldCortina'.

On a more serious note I was wondering about the role of the FA in todays meeting with NL member club officials. Clearly a lot of what they are doing is to ensure that proposals are progressed without a fight breaking out and to help resolve the promotion/relegation issue.
However I'm wondering whether at least some of the questions they will face will relate to the future viability and construction of the NL itself. In particular the notion that The NL may need to break into a National North and National South set-up creating two divisions from the existing three. There have been murmurings from several clubs on this theme. The FA, as the ultimate sanctioning authority would probably be the architects of any such plan. I tend to doubt it but I wonder if they are going to pull a surprise or two.

There isn't going to be any major changes in the structure of the leagues at the moment I wouldn't think I would say today is all about having a final solution to this season

On the Sky News site it says
"Divisional meetings with clubs will then take place on Thursday with the three divisions deciding how they will conclude the current season, with presentations put to them from the board and the FA." This suggests that the FA may themselves be putting forward a plan.

Think sky have misread things again like they did when they announced that relegation had been completely scrapped from League 2 and not suggested like it was.
Todayβs meeting is discussion based, there is not expected to be a definitive decision from todayβs meetings but we may have a clue as to what the intentions of the National League are.
Whatever happens today the clubs need to vote on it over the next few days - will likely be next week before any decision comes
