Re: Decisions being made
The FA / EFL are sorting out Macclesfield today, so IF Macclesfield are relegated directly to the National North or lower, (as happened to Boston in 2007 which was for similar financial miss-management) even Chorley's bacon would be saved.
Who would have bet on that happening?
Unlikely, but after the FA's 'elite' status surprise , who knows?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_United_F.C.
I think that would then mean one club being moved across from the North to the South, but am not sure of anything now.
Fingers crossed those votes go as expected!

Feel sorry for York but they are the exception to the FAs ruling.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:19 amThey have a simple case for saying they come under the elite athletes category then. Part time teams won’t. Could get messy this. ; should have just been 3 down from National League and the top 2 on PPG promoted from each NLN and NLSSuffolk Blue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 11:42 pm
York I believe are the lowest ranked full time squad in the Pyramid system - I think they occupy position no 139 in the list.
I have to say amid all the (valid) comments regarding this proposal, that this is classic FA behaviour. Dont for one moment think that the FA just decided to turn up yesterday and drop this on the NL. This is a solution that has been carefully crafted to deliver a pre-determined outcome and to ensure certain clubs who could've tried to create chaos are simply neutralised. The FA wont see it as bias. They will see it as entirely pragmatic. If you benefit from it so be it, if not then tough.
Despite the huge amount of often valid criticism thrown at the EFL and the FA, the plain fact of the matter is that the majority of football clubs are run by self-interested hypocritical would-be megalomaniacs, who respond in the main to very crude stimuli. If it is true that Borehamwood now intend to vote in favour of this motion and actually participate having been the so-called moral guardians of honesty and truth, then that would be the perfect illustration of this.

You see - he just cant resist using the words "null and void" and let them hang like a bad smell. Like Jacob Marley rattling his chains in Scrooge.
I wonder whether he goes home at night and continually drops hints to the wife on what the foreclosure options will be on the house if they dont pay the mortgage.

Re: Decisions being made
Using the words null and void is just another way of saying these are the proposals if you vote no we have go back to the drawing board and null and void.. It then puts the link between elf and national league at threat- only those that lose out or those that are stupid vote no..

Re: Decisions being made
But whilst all the arguing is going on we are still under the radar. Everyone seems set that we are going up and all the chatter is about relegation and promotion from the league below.
Re: Decisions being made
Surely it's only right to vote no? The fact they are blocking promotion of two sides in the leagues below because of some bullshit excuse about it not being elite shouldn't be overlooked just because we want things sorted ASAP.Bingo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 10:05 am Using the words null and void is just another way of saying these are the proposals if you vote no we have go back to the drawing board and null and void.. They posted a month back that a host of clubs were in to sign Scott Quigley

For a mad moment I thought the votes were all in already - this suspense is killing me.
