Its been said before the club has no connection with the people of Barrow, we go because we want to keep the club alive, its like going to a party and you have not been invited. Our away support is fantastic in comparison with the home attendance.

He's pocketed a tidy sum from selling three of the clubs best players in summer but not re-spent this money on buying similar quality players. I think this is the reason Cox left; as he was promised money would be spent on improving the squad this year, with the aim of promotion. But what he saw instead was some of the best players being sold and the money not being re-spent by Casson to replace these players. Added to this, I agree with the comments here that Casson seems to have underestimated the costs involved in running a football club. This is now reflected in the lack of spending and lack of too much progress both on and off the field.

How much money did Casson pocket during summer from player sales again?

When you have a business losing money no one 'pockets' anything, it just mitigates the losses.
It all comes 'round again.

Some very good points made in this thread from @Ste Story and @boyliegladbach and others. It's hard to pin point exactly why something just doesn't feel right but the implementation of those ideas would certainly help and create a better atmosphere.

I would add that maintaining order without being over officious in all areas of the ground would help. Cut the supporters a bit of slack and we'll cut it back.

As Barrow supporters we've been faced with adversity for ever, it's what we're accustomed too and probably what we react best to, in terms of galvanising supporters. When things are going well we're probably expecting something to go wrong, at least I am. So although it's far from panic stations, I still feel comfortable in the situation. It's always what supporting Barrow has been about.

I think there are some cultural differences in the business practices that create ill feeling (in me, anyway). Being a working class Barrow boy, you like to see people treated fairly and with respect when in employment; players, management, staff and officials. It doesn't sit well with me to hear of people being forced out or sacked pretty much on a whim or without good cause, but that's the American way (I am generalising there). I don't like to think of BAFC as a hire em and fire em company.

I'd like to see the club seeking feedback from supporters in a more formal way rather than just reading this forum, and then acting on it. We're really the experienced experts and they the novices.

The loyalty to a football club will outlive most marriages, we are here to help. Don't see us the enemy and don't mistake passion for unwarranted criticism. If you do something that might damage the club, you will be told about it, vocally and maybe in an unbecoming manner, but it's because the club is part of our lives and always will be.

We can move forward with no division and the collective desire to make the club the best it can be.

If somebody asked how much is in your bank account would you tell them?

12 points from 12 games!!! Edmo was sacked when we were just 4 points from a playoff place!! Casson needs to give up his Dads dream, he failed the moment he sacked Darren Edmondson, who gave us promotion after winning the title, increased the average gate, pulled in players who Cox then tried to take credit for and the club have now cashed in on and not forgetting the feel good factor he created around the town! Edmo wasn't even given the Jan transfer window remember!!. Casson showed no strength by letting him go, it was cowardes and his father would never have been so short sighted. You watch, Edmo will be Carlisle boss at some point - he is at the club now and people are saying he has been first class. Grow some Texan balls, pick up the phone to Edmo, apologise and let him finish what he started!! Amen x

:skill: Darren or whoever?
Edmondson was installed by the keen regime as a very cheap part time option in different times.
His tactics were long ball.
He had few contacts other than the Cumbrians.
He was provided with a great budget for conference north...... and by the midges eyelash we were promoted after our form dipped....and so did afc fylde the better team that year.
In the higher league he couldn't do it and had little control off the pitch........
Cox came as he was in many fans eyes rightly disposed of.
I don't want to see him return.
You have an agenda hence my response.
Leave Edmondson at Carlisle he's doing well with the kids

The poster is connected to Edmondson.
Best leave it there. Edmo knows he wasn't good in a few aspects here.....

Edmo made some duff signings when we got promoted, plus a defensive coach, 2 year deals all over the place, all at a cost to the club. He appeared a decent bloke and very few agreed with the way he was dispatched but that’s history now. MM I doubt have nowhere near the funds to spend and the way he sounded on RC is up for the challenge to better himself, like anyone who has the chance to do so. Only time will tell

Edmo very nearly messed it up with a very decent budget for the conference north. Am I right in saying it was an Omar Bogle goal for Solihull versus fylde that got us automatic promotion??

Wow
Rubbish in my opinion.
ANOTHER post criticising the owners, without a realistic suggestion for improvement.
Boyliegladbchs (apologies if spelt wrongly) post was excellent - critical but with good positive observations.
If owning the club isn't just a huge ego trip for the Cassons, then they might listen to decent, respectful and constructive criticism. Moving forward as a club with the owners and fans in some sort of harmony. It would earn respect in the football world, and it would be attractive to potential players. Instability wouldn't be, and it isn't.
Gratuitously rubbishing the Cassons isn't going to help anyone, and it's much less likely to make them want to engage. Would you, whether it's justified or not, if you are being regularly bad mouthed ? I repeat what I've said before - if they need to be booted out for some important reason, fair enough,go for it. Otherwise, give it a rest.
Equally, silence and false promises are going to (and have) alienated lots of fans. Room for improvement from their point of view too.
They need to show they are approaching ownership for a small local club with a small but passionate fan base in the appropriate way, and LISTENING, and showing respect to the fans, even though they are (Pedro and Azalea eat your hearts out) in control, at least for the time being, whether it's liked or it isn't.
