Re: Targets For January

Should’ve gone for Tom Pope on his release from port vale last season.
I get what your saying but judging by what we now have and you say a refreshing approach , well if we were halfway up the league I`D agree but we`d be taking a massive gamble and the price of failure is not worth thinking about people keep saying there`s teams worse than us maybe but i honestly think nobody should be relying on that sort of thought process or you might get a shock !Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 2:54 pm Yes Adam. Transfer speculation is generally more interesting than the reality especially in January. I’m sure Scott Quigley would’ve been welcomed by MC had he stayed but that doesn’t mean he’s the sort of player that MC would look to buy.
This approach is refreshing in the sense that his approach is developmental and implies he sees himself being around for a while. Occasionally though an impulsive buy can be a short term benefit. It’s all about getting past the finishing post in tact
I see Bristol Rovers have pinched Ryan Lofts from Scunthorpe today. That’s an outcome that is likely to do untold damage to Scunny. He was way and above their best player and scorer. Lest we panic we should remember that there are sides in L2 in a worse state than ours.

With no offence intended I don’t think Mark Cooper a manager of 15 or so years is going to change his mind on who he wants to bring in because people posting on here think it’s a gamble
If someone is a proven goalscorer why would the club hes currently scoring goals for let him leave without a ridiculous fee?blue nige wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 1:27 pmAs a back up maybe but I hope we are actually going for someone who is a proven goalscorer or we`ve had it !HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 12:15 pm Port Vale just signed Ryan Edmondson on loan from Leeds; wonder if he’s one we considered
Depends what League ,is his contract up etc , If people on here don`t think that that we should invest money in something that would be an asset then keep listening to Mark Cooper`s spin because a lot of things he says is what he wants you to hear !HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 6:05 pmIf someone is a proven goalscorer why would the club hes currently scoring goals for let him leave without a ridiculous fee?
You`re right but I know which i would have , the stakes are too high but what the f*** do i know ! and don`t forget if it all goes wrong do you see Mark Cooper staying around ? don`t think so.Adam29 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 5:53 pm But that same gamble can also occur if you go for a “proven” goal scorer like you want.

You’re spot on. We the fans tend to fret. Cooper is not in the same place. He’s certainly not inclined to panic. Because I would guess he believes in himself. With good cause.Adam29 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 5:53 pm But that same gamble can also occur if you go for a “proven” goal scorer like you want.
