Re: Whing replacement?
I would say they brought in McDonald knowing that the sacking of Whing was imminent with a view to making him permanent manager if he does well.
It remains to be seen if that's the case, but if it is, it's a good shout, assuming McDonald does well.

Re: Whing replacement?
Iain Wood said that wasn’t the case. He was obviously known to the club and was available to help out at short notice in a similar way Rob Kelly was and AW agreed to the help by all accounts. RK was only ever a short term option.

Re: Whing replacement?
It's a pretty poor plan if that is the case. McDonald hasn't managed as a number one for years now. Lets hope they have a plan for if McDonald doesn't workbluessupporter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 10:03 pm I would say they brought in McDonald knowing that the sacking of Whing was imminent with a view to making him permanent manager if he does well.

Re: Whing replacement?
Well, I'm just hoping the 4/5 odds on John Brady is because somebody knows something and not because somebody just put a tenner on him because he has managed 2 clubs over 9 years without being sacked which says a lot.

Brady out to 2/1 & McDonald back to 1/1 on the betting front.
Needs to be over and done with sooner rather than later

Re: Whing replacement?
Agreed, four massive games ahead which act as a huge assessment of the squad for whoever comes in. I certainly hope we aren't using this next period as a test for McDonald.BarrowLad71 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 23, 2025 10:35 am Brady out to 2/1 & McDonald back to 1/1 on the betting front.

Popular side since '03.
Re: Whing replacement?
Surely the most important thing here is to get the decision right as we as a club can’t afford it not to be.
If it takes another three or four games to get the right person in then so be it.

Re: Whing replacement?
Agreed that Brady looks the best man for the job.
I just hope the Board can persuade him to come up north, and have deep enough pockets to be able to afford him.

Re: Whing replacement?
Nobody in the league will be getting relegated in the next three or for games.. little bit over dramatic.
Re: Whing replacement?
Surely can’t take the risk with McDonald, that’s a massive gamble. Understand it being interim but he has next to no experience being a number one especially in a relegation battle if we continue to get dragged into it

Re: Whing replacement?
If Mcdonald is appointed it's purely on a financial basis .
He was here with Brown they never kept us up with wins, the teams below could not win to catch us up.
He was with Brown as Kidderminster Harriers dropped in the league till they were sacked.
Brown is now at Peterborough Sports who are in the relegation zone.
Brady is our man and Cook to come in on loan, luckily we have a Director of Football who needs to make it happen.
