And just what has Ashton done so badly that some of you lot would bring Anderton back having seen him briefly. I watched him for Aldershot in midweek and he looked ordinary. Why did'nt they keep him ? Plus, would Ashton sit in the stand like another half a dozen well paid contracted players.

If asked at end of August early September then I would have said yes, but as the weeks have gone on Ashton has settled and put some decent performances on of late so I say no

Ashton has done nothing wrong he's a good player. It's called competition for places. NWA is also a good age to be part of a developing squad.
As for sitting in stands- I think some of our players need to be going out and getting some game time and getting up to match fitness.

We've got competition for places in midfield & it hasn't done any good there Jonty!
I don't see any advantage in bringing in a player when that position isn't the problem and the player with the shirt is doing fine. One of them would be sat watching games......which one, the loanee (so no point in bringing him in) or the player who is doing fine? which doesn't make sense.
Other areas are in desperate need of improvement first.

It became a problem area again yesterday you always get 100% from Ashton but he simply struggles with raw pace and was exploited again, but he wasn't on his own!

The midfield issues are a different debate. Every position should have competition and we have it everywhere except at LB. Plus he's a good player at a good age. I'd have him in.
Ashton is a sound pro with loads of experience that NWA could learn from.

There's also the upcoming problem of RB. Unless Edmo has sorted something with his club we are likely to lose G. Williams shortly. Having said that, we all know Edmo seems to like Cowps there
Back to the NWA debate, I understand he's a very good player, but again who sits in the stand while the other plays (can't imagine putting either on the bench) one of our most consistent players this season (Ashton) or a loanee who wont come cheaply?
Sorry, just doesn't make sense to me when there are far bigger problems in midfield to sort first. Some of this lot need to go out on loan and allow us bring a decent midfielder in.....if Edmo can find one.
