Does the club have proper scanners? When I used my ticket last time the scanner either didn't work or there wasn't one, and I was just waved through.

To reply to a couple of the latest points:

Main Stand Ticket Checks:

The stewards on the stand have been advised to check tickets every time and will be reminded again tomorrow.

With entry to the stand now only via turnstiles C & D, we will be introducing a barrier on the flattened west terrace, with a designated person checking every ticket so only those with a main stand ticket can pass from the terraced area to the stand. Someone will also be placed at the bottom of the stairs at the away end of the stand, no barrier is really needed there as the location of the wall lends itself to ticket checking!

This won't be in place tomorrow but should hopefully be sorted for the Dagenham game.

Scanners:

We do have bespoke scanners from the ticketing company but we have had issues with them and being honest, don't have enough to deal with the number we are now selling. I've had discussions with them this week and we think we have worked out what the issues are, we will also be leasing at least 3 more of them too.

Under 12 tickets:

A very good point and one that has been considered. The main reason we only have them available on the day is to stop people buying them online and using them for non U12's at the online ticket gates, which are under a bit of pressure at the moment for reasons listed above.

When we have more scanners and are able to open more online ticket gates, the pressure on the operators will be much lower, allowing more time to thoroughly check tickets and ensure no Under 12's were being used incorrectly. This will obviously also further tighten up on any U21/U18 tickets that may be used incorrectly. That being the case, we would be comfortable having Under 12 tickets available online and they would be made available in plenty of time ahead of any possible sell out.

Off topic get someone at the popular side entrance selling hats and scarfs absolute instant earner that on days like today or any day for that matter , before you come through or after same at the main stand easy money to make that get the branding out there and get the money made them new hats and scarfs look good

If I want to buy a railway ticket I have a lot of options- I can buy it online or I can go to the station and buy in advance or on the day. This is called choice. Not everybody wants to or can buy tickets online so why the club can’t sell tickets as well as online I don’t know. Notts County managed to send tickets to Barrow for their home game earlier this season so it can’t be that difficult. More profitable for the club as well

Apologies if this has been mentioned / clarified elsewhere but will an online ticket guarantee you admission to the terraces? And is it the case that the club limit the number of cash paying supporters, taking into account the number of online sales?

It does Wintergreen, any online ticket will guarantee entry to the relevant section of the ground (stand/seats). Online ticket sales end at 23:59 the day before the game so I can get my calculator and work out how many tickets to send out when the turnstiles open.

Things like hospitality guests, media, visiting directors etc are taken into account before the number of tickets is finalised too.

Thank you, I was hoping that would be the case. I would hate to think of a supporter rocking up at 2:55 v Woking with an online ticket to find the ground full due to a surge in cash-paying supporters. I've seen people climbing over the walls before and I will name them: 1. Spirit of (Cont'd Pg. 94)

With no cash handling in the turnstile due to the all ticket situation I'm confident we won't have this issue on Saturday Jonty. I've observed that supporters in the stand tend to arrive earlier than most and out of 1000 seats in the stand, approximately 300 won't use the turnstile (away fans, hospitality guests, directors etc).

However, if we do have any issues we will look at it again and see what changes we can make

They do, the total number of Stand ST holders was factored in to how many tickets we could sell.

We have drafted in ten stewards from an external company to help us with our remaining home games.

As well as the usual segregation down the aisle, the seat next to the aisle in each row of the away section has been left unsold and a steward will be sat on those seats every few rows.

We've also taken a few steps to make things more organised, for example away fans with seated tickets will enter through a different turnstile to those with standing tickets. Each seated ticket in the away end has been assigned a seat number and supporters will have to sit in their designated seat.

There will also be an extra ticket check in place at the home end of the main stand for anyone passing from the terraces to the stand, only main stand ticket holders will be allowed into the stand to prevent a breach of the capacity.

The police are at most, if not every game and will increase their presence if it's felt it is needed.

It's certainly a bit different from having 6/700 in

It is, but to be honest by the time you get around through the terraces you would probably be quicker walking around the outside of the ground to Turnstile C

Thanks for that. Should have explained that I like to have a chat to one or two people on the popular side on the way round, but they might have to do without my congenial company for a week or two.

Are there any stand tickets left for home supporters for this week?
