Re: Expansion
Some wise old heads there putting things nicely in perspective. I can only add on my part by saying that Sutton are in for an absolute shallacking in front of our new twin towers in a few weeks time.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: Expansion
Looked like the away end bar was being lifted in this afternoon as well.

Re: Expansion
Seriously I pinch myself every time I go to the ground these days. The work that has been carried out on the Stadium the last few years is nothing short of incredible ( before anyone points it out - can you even have nothing short of incredible ?)
Some have got to remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and for that matter neither was the Asda store on Walney Road.
We’ve got local owners who are willing to splash the cash, what more can we ask for. I say thank the Lord we’re not Fleetwood fans or Morecambe supporters for that matter.
Up the Bluebirds in Pete Wild we trust.

Re: Expansion
I would just like to second that.As a kid going to the ground in the 1960s when we sometimes had as many as 16000 in the ground for a cup match and then nearly go out of existence. When it then rose phoenix like from.the ashes is nothing short of remarkable. It is all down to the hard work of the local owners who put their own money in and the hard work of the supporters. The ground now looks terrific compared to what it looked like a few years ago and I would just like to say thank youFanzoneFan wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 6:36 pm Seriously I pinch myself every time I go to the ground these days. Re: Expansion
How odd a reply
You confirm that the trust are an owner and then say it still

Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here
Re: Expansion
A 6000+ crowd in there and it will be brilliant. A little bit of edge in the game and the fans will make it as they always do.
Remember when 1200 was considered a decent gate, not that long ago.
Barrow’s on the up.

Re: Expansion
Attendances are down from the previous season aren’t they ?
Re: Expansion
On the up. 3,492 last season, 3,202 the year before including that big villa gate.

Re: Expansion
3 years ago today they'd just started digging the footings for the HS end..
We've done ok in such a short time on a very limited budget.

I was told that attendances would plummet after we banned all the little 13year old chavsBombadel wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 11:30 pmOn the up. 3,492 last season, 3,202 the year before including that big villa gate.

Re: Expansion
You're right Ian , but I think these EFL rules punish new clubs the seats should be based on size of ground etc. BUT as it means we're in the football league I'll take it !

Re: Expansion
Am I right in thinking that the last time there were 6000 inside HS was Enfield in the FA Trophy semi-final in the eighties?
