Expansion

Post by beachy01 » Sun Apr 23, 2023 11:43 am

Heard yesterday that the club have bought the car garage on the corner where the blubird used to be.

Anyone heard anything? Would be prime to maybe expand the popular side into a full length terrace

If that’s true - it’s excellent news.

what about the plans for the away end upgrade and are there any plans to extend the main stand? There's plenty of room on that side.

The side leading from the main stand towards the away end corner is being flattened and levelled up - and a 500 seat stand is being put in that space

Away end capacity being increased to 900

Be nice to see some plans for all this, they must exist somewhere. Seats in Cross Bar end also I believe to make it four sided again!

No mention of being able to purchase tickets for seating at the Steelworks end of the ground. And it looks like half the Holker St End will now be for away fans with the new away terrace 😳

How many away teams will sell 900 ? Bradford and Carlisle if they don’t go up. Wrexham I’d guess but would many others.

Good news if they have bought the garage would allow further pop side and Holker street development

That’s my thoughts too. IIRC only Carlisle, Bradford and Stockport filled the away end this season. I think I’m general away following at Holker st has been lower this season than last. Many came last season to tick the ground off as visited but didn’t return this season. The improvements will be welcomed but for me the jury is still out as to wether it will encourage more away fans to come to Holker st to watch their team

Hope that's just an out of scale depiction if not is absolutely wrong, plus would have thought our club could do better than that not even an artists drawing of what it should look like P**s poor from the club again!
