Macclesfield did it recently in the Holker End and everyone seemed happy enough with it on the day.

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
Wrong game to do this imo. If Orient bring more than 100 fans I'd have wanted full money off them which would have still seemed cheap compared to their home prices. A game where less than 50 away fans are expected would have been better.

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
We should be really promoting this game now. Really emphasising the free under 17s giving out tickets to local schools even though it is free people are more likely to come if you have something in the hand.
Advert in the paper a press release of some description to really promote the game. Some posters and leaflets that really emphasise the price of the game. Maybe give these out in town centre shops etc.
Getting people to share the posters on social media not just the normal generic posters but ones which really push the price.
Then on the tickets that are giving out on the day a £2 off the next League game voucher to try and get some of the extra people back.
If done correctly and really pushed from now onwards we should get a fairly good attendance

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
Its been on twitter once.
This is the problem. Its under advertised and the fans are expected to just know and turn up. Should be on each social media platform every day, sometimes more than once a day.
Otherwise it'll end up being poorly attended and nothing learned.
Have a "Share this post and win a shirt" post on facebook and youll get every mother in Barrow distracted from candy crush for 5 minutes and it'll be everywhere.
You just watch it go on the main site, twitter and facebook now that its been brought up here though.

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
It's pinned to the clubs twitter page and has been posted about numerous times on social media pages. It will also be going up on the website again every day for the next few days.
Posters were put on each table in the Crossbar on Saturday and apparently all of them were taken so hopefully they will be put up in various places. The poster is also up on social media and on the website to print out.
We are going round town tomorrow to place leaflets in shops and handing them out to shoppers. The visit will be timed so secondary school kids should be around and about having finished school to promote the free entry aspect.
The Evening Mail have been contacted and an article on it will be published in the next few days promoting the game and special offers.
I am also contacting Radio Cumbria later today to ask for a piece to be aired about it.
A competition is planned to give away tickets to the game on facebook in the next day or so to encourage people to share the post and keep it in their minds for the next few days leading up to the game.
I have been in contact with local companies (The leisure Centre etc) to share the post on social media too.
Social media messages and emails have been sent out to local schools and colleges and I will continue to do so in the next few days. I have just got off the phone with Steve H who has kindly offered to help promote it in his school and a few others.
More could always be done and more man power could be put behind it, but it has been promoted and it will continue to be done so leading up to the game. As always the best promotion we can have is if everyone drags a mate along, that would double the attendance by itself. Some good ideas in the posts above too and I will take them onboard both for Saturday and for future promotions.
If anyone would like to help giving out posters around town tomorrow then feel free to send me a PM and if you would like some physical copies sending then I would be happy to arrange that too.

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
All those idea will work well if implemented right.
Posters on tables in the crossbar will only really appeal to those who go regularly. It won't bring in many new faces and I don't think many will have taken them home with them.
Handing out leaflets would be better done over a dinnertime when BAE / Town centre workers are out on their dinner. If you are going there to hand out to school children and contacting schools then you'll miss the dinner time flurry of workers.
Putting it in the evening mail would be better next to the match report thats published on a monday or a wednesday rather than a footnote on page 12. Barrow will already be on the mind of the reader then.
Can I suggest you use the clubs instagram to promote it? As its been laying dormant for a while and needs a layer of freshness. Put a picture up and tell users to tag a friend for 2 free tickets/shirt . Do a draw for it. Dead easy.
Also have you thought about contact FBS to advertise in store with them? With being passbook based, there is a high level of foot fall in branches and a display stand with the deal on would be noticed.

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
All good and constructive points and i would have liked to have seen posters up and around town advertising this 2 weeks ago, however it does look like someone is finally trying and i for 1 fully support it. Need more of it and more often imo but at least it's a startThe Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 1:22 pmAll those idea will work well if implemented right.

Thanks for that a former member of this forum. You're right about going into town at dinner time. Myself and Glasgow Blue will be meeting at the statue by McDonalds in town at 12:15 tomorrow for anyone who would like to come along and help. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 1:22 pmAll those idea will work well if implemented right.

Obviously the thought behind the Crossbar posters was that they would take them away and put them up somewhere, so I hope a bit of that has happened, but I absolutely get what you are saying.
The plan is for the mail to do a proper article on non-league day and the reduced prices and then mention it in smaller footnotes later in the week.
I haven't really looked at Instagram yet but I definitely will do now, I will get a competition running on there tomorrow. Same with the FBS, I hadn't given them much thought but we have been working with them on social media a bit more recently, so I will get in touch to see if we can get something sorted.
I agree that ideally this would have been done a few weeks ago, but it's a start, and hopefully it is something that can be built on for the next time we do something similar.

Also the bad weather is kicking in. Get on at local football sides, in case of postponement.

Good effort by the club on this occasion and hope it brings an increase, however I think as an ex retail manager, that this is something you have to do many times to see a decent uplift

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
Hope you get a couple of people come and help out with leaflets etc, are you going to get someone to dress up as Bluey.
Going forward the match posters are great but I have mentioned before a poster that says the next couple of games would be good, give local retailers a free ticket for putting them up, if they agree to pre sell tickets for the club give them a few free to either sell or give away.

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game

"The soccers at home, we could take them there"
"There crap this year, no point"
That's what your up against unfortunately
