we've been on the end of this stuff for years and its about time we did it ourselves.

Back in that period of time it was a perfectly reasonable response.

Back in the 60's there was no "brand". We drank tea and watched football on muddy pitches. You are trying to compare two eras over 50 years apart.

You conflated the two eras, not me. What "tea and muddy pitches" has to do with it, I've no idea. A very weak argument.

Unfortunately, modern football isn't like that. Not at Barrow. Not anywhere else. Kids - and young players - are influenced by the antics of the Premier League prima-donnas; millions watch the likes of Sky and BT, only a few hundred at most come to National League games. Work out where the bad habits come from.
