Good to see stewards being jobsworths again. Young Barrow fan pushed over the wall after rooneys goal by bigger people piling forward as expected... Two stewards grabbing the lad and escorting him down the tunnel.
What were they doing to the FC fans jumping barriers to fight home fans or drinking on the terrace. Absolute joke.

The young Barrow fan was mid twenties. And when all the facts were gathered he was sent back to his buddies. The club are still being reported to the FA by the match officials. As for jobsworths give the job a try for a few games you seem to know all there is to know about the role fella.

It's so easy to be critical about officials, twenty years ago my son would persistently criticise the MIB, (like most of us!) then he took up refereeing and ran the line at HS, it's then you realise it's not easy, he has more respect now.

Find it funny when people say "give the job a try yourself". So im sure you have never complained about someone not doing their job properly then? Or you've taken on every job you have had an issue with?

From my school-boy days, as a full-back, I was always taught to 'stand tight against the near-side post'. Apparently that doesn't happen so much nowadays. I've noticed it recently with several teams. Would have saved Rooney's goal from a corner. No wonder Bromley goalie was remonstrating with the defender and rightly so.

Ironically, it wasn't a defender but their debut loan striker, Corey Whiteley, who will have enjoyed his starring role in front of the TV cameras, as he also missed a 'sitter'!

It's also quite clear from the replays that Rooney deliberately went for an attempt at goal there - maybe something the coaches picked out from scouting Bromley that they don't always cover the front post very well?
