Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
I don't believe that, fella! Simply because the rugby don't have any away support.BarrowLad71 wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 8:28 pmYes likes those Barrow raiders fans fighting on the terracing this season away… [SwearFilter]
A recent away fixture saw them running a coach filled with 31 fans. One of their fans posted it on Facebook.
In the 80s the Rugby had massive support. There were a few 'encounters' - two of them being with Hull and Warrington - one being a RL cup semi-final played at Headingley, Leeds and the other being a RL cup final played at Wigan's old Central Park. Rucking throughout the streets of Wigan, that day! The rugby don't have the same support these days (or a team anywhere near as good their old sides) so your account of raiders fans fighting away seems a little wide of the mark
Also; the majority of those following Barrow Rugby and fighting in the 80s were, unfortunately, members of the infamous TMF - the scoundrels who followed our beloved Barrow AFC

I missed that. Okay - no toilet facilities - so let them pi** in a bottle
Joking! So that's revenue lost. And another factor why we need a designated Away End. With regard to regulations - and I'm sure there are more now we're in the EFL - can someone explain why many who are stood on The Holker End nip round to the Fan Zone for a pint at half time, walking through the Popular Side? Or walk from The Popular Side into the Holker End after having supped? I'm quite sure it was stated on here and on the club's official site that according to EFL regulations it wasn't allowed. Facts do catch on

Not strictly true boys seeing as the Pools game kinda set a president, Yes different league different rules probably & fairly easy to circumnavigate assuming we would need several portapottys & change the Holker End Turnstiles to Away only for the day, IMO we really need to maximise any windfalls when they appear, A few changes but they more than pay for themselves & we enjoy a bumper crowd inc the freebies & bank a few grand..
Just Saying.
Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
My understanding is that it is permitted to do so (or to use the toilet) with supporters returning to the area for which they have bought a ticket after.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 1:16 pmI missed that. Okay - no toilet facilities - so let them pi** in a bottle![]()

Aye, if there was no walking between the Holker End and the Popular Side then there’d be no access to toilets or food for those in that end. I’m surprised we’re allowed to do as much wandering about as we do at Holker Street. Mind, we have no concourses so it’s unavoidable really.Hadrian wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 2:04 pmMy understanding is that it is permitted to do so (or to use the toilet) with supporters returning to the area for which they have bought a ticket after.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 1:16 pm

Arrhh...good point! But how many DO return to the area that they bought a ticket for? Use the toilet?Hadrian wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 2:04 pmMy understanding is that it is permitted to do so (or to use the toilet) with supporters returning to the area for which they have bought a ticket after.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 1:16 pm

Come on! There have been plenty (associated with the club in an official capacity) who have been drinking in the Fan Zone at half time and returning to areas of the ground for which they don't have a ticket. We're not all blind, you know?

Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
We are fulfilling all requests and have got through a number of official inspections who are happy with our arrangements.
It means we can alter the perimeter, this is vital for the ground.
You are right re the Pool portaloos Mike but am sure in the EFL there are more rules on access and egress. This in terms of movement actually works in our favour.
There is no appetite from the safety folk or police to give the HSE in full to away fans, even temporarily. For a number of reasons.

Unfortunately whilst 99% of fans can mix there is and always has been trouble at certain RL games. The RU crowds behave disgracefully after the matches especially at Twickenham if it was football fans doing it there would be uproar.
