No pressure - let's spoil the party
The next 3 games are massive for the clubs we are playing and we can really put a spanner in the works of all these teams. We can play with no pressure and have a real go, be great if we could spoil of few of the big teams days and show them we deserve to be in league 2.
Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
You'd usually say players would be trying to earn a new contract but Cooper gave them all one anyway.
Popular side since '03.

Aren't a fair number actually out of contract in the summer?

Not sure how reliable this site is, (the market value seems to been plucked out of a hat) but apparently we have 11 core players out of contract in the summertommy2thumbs wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 2:01 pmAren't a fair number actually out of contract in the summer?

See the Playing Squad 2021-2 thread in the Announcements section at the top of the Barrow AFC forum page for squad status.

I think Canavan is missing from it - but otherwise it looks up to date

Ah right cheers, couldn’t see the woods n all that, says Matt platt and the club have a one year option, so this rumour about him signing a pre contract can’t be true, as it would need both parties to agree?

Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
I'm going to Exeter and Swindon both grounds I've never been to before.Obviously if Phil Brown wants the job full time a strong finish will help him seal a deal for next season. Interesting to see the Paul Simpson affect has gone a bit pear shaped at Carlisle over the last few weeks. I wonder what our board would do if say Barrow lose their last 3 games heavily. Who'd want to run a football club - must be a nightmare trying to make big decisions.

Interesting you mention Paul Simpson.FanzoneFan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:45 am I'm going to Exeter and Swindon both grounds I've never been to before.Obviously if Phil Brown wants the job full time a strong finish will help him seal a deal for next season. My contact in Carlisle says 'Simmo' has had his head turned by another club a bit further south !!.

I mentioned Paul Simpson but think Brown has done what's been asked of him.mall wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 1:08 pmInteresting you mention Paul Simpson.FanzoneFan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:45 am I'm going to Exeter and Swindon both grounds I've never been to before.Obviously if Phil Brown wants the job full time a strong finish will help him seal a deal for next season. One year contract with quarterly milestones.
Not right to sack him after what he has done

He won't be 'sacked'. If the club want him to go (which I doubt) they won't renew his contract. That is not a sacking.
If he wants to go he will do so after the next three games, which sees his contract end.
I would like him to stay, but he is now in a strong position, which his agent will exploit, especially if other clubs come sniffing around.

Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
Looking forward to the next three games now the nail biting has stopped and we're safe
All three of our opponents must be kacking their kegs!
We've already beaten Swindon at home and Northampton on their own turf. And last season we went to Exeter and spoiled their promotion party, if my memory serves me correctly? Deja Vu
Northampton play Exeter this coming Saturday. Depending on the outcome of that game and other fixtures, it may transpire that The Cobblers have to win at Holker Street on the final day of the season to be automatically promoted!
Little 'ol Barrow having such a big say in the promotion battles, eh? Who'd have thought it?
