Hughes shouldn't be playing in any position until he shifts a couple of stone. How someone can come back to pre season as he did and still be like it 5 games in is a disgrace. Sort ur self out Liam.burntisland wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 7:11 pm Match thread Barrow v Maidenhead!!
Hughes is playing completely out of position and has for most of his time here. Most of his career has been at centre midfield where i believe he should play.
In the first half there were a lot of Barrow players off the pace.Audell was having a mare as he did against Dagenham ,he's definitely not a full back and Gomis wasnt really involved in game enough,ARH was once again missing so to pick out Hughes imo bit unfair.
Improved second half with introduction of Barthram and further improved with Yussuf and Harrison, hopefully can continue improvement at Fylde.

Agree with this. He has on ok football brain and can see a pass.Bluebird_john wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 7:39 pm Hughes's stick is justified at this moment in time, not last season though. Difference is he's not fit this time round and doesn't look sharp. I actually rate him as a footballer.
He simply isn't fit or athletic enough to play consistently at this level.

5-3-2 for me too. Think with current players this is our best option. Hughes has no pace whatsoever and is never a winger.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 3:40 pmJesus, it could of been me writing that......agree with everything you have wrote.Moribund wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 9:25 am Came on here knowing that Hughes would be getting a slating, and I have to agree. He was decent in the first couple of games last season, but has done the sum total of [SwearFilter] all since. I'd rather play someone like Makoma or Barthram out of position than have Hughes in the side at all.
We had the chances to win, and Yussuf and Harrison looked a potentially great combination. Moore pulled off two stunning saves, but his kicking is poor. I would hope we haven't just sacked off 5-3-2 altogether, as it looked good and we haven't got a decent winger at all at the moment. Bauress is out of his depth at this level.
Panayiotou is poor, and aside from one good touch where he pulled it out of the sky, everything bounced off his shins or he fell to the floor meekly - I hope St Kitts have a run of games again soon.
Audel is a centre-back playing out of position, and it shows - I think Moore said he has to take a week off now because of his head injury, so hopefully that's Barthram given a run in the side.
Slightly odd choice for man of the match, when Moussa was dominant for almost all of it.
Put Asa Hall in for Hughes and the team that finished yesterday will win a lot of matches.....
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Appeared to be three possibly four rows in the hospitality section but can't be sure they were from a hospitality package.
Hope that helps a little.
