Best and cheapest option is becoming a member of the Trust and going by bus. We came, we saw and hopefully we conquered.

Re: Carlisle (A)
For anyone who has access to participating newspapers Northern have a newspaper offer on just £10 to travel on Northern trains for a full day. Travel between November 1st until November 30th. Travelling is on Northern trains only so it would be a cumbrian coast trip there and back to Carlisle.

That Cumbrian coastal route is bloody awful-it stops at every farm gate and until you get to Carlisle there are locals getting on and off who hate the sight of 'Barrow townies'.xerxes wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 12:25 pmNot as long as going via Lancaster, surely? And it's far more scenic.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 4:18 pm Best of luck to anyone going on the train then. Those who choose to go to Lancaster and change there will encounter many going to Manchester Christmas markets and anyone going up the coast its a bloody long way.

I love that route - stress free not having to jump from one train to another
Just stick headphones on put a decent podcast on and on you go - most the time the difference is about 15mins when I’ve been going up there and the cost difference is a hell of a lot cheaper

Just make sure that you are wearing the standard Northern Rail goggles and anti- radiation suit when passing through Sellafield. If in doubt check your Geiger counter. Otherwise that warm glow you feel may not be down to the early morning Ready Brek.

Very insulting to the hundreds of nuclear professionals from Barrow who are helping to turn legacy assets back to greenfield sites.
Geiger counter - based your comments on Quatermass and The Pit?
