Aye we were in the end of the stand, no one behind the goal.

My first game this season and I must admit I was torn on the judgement of players. I thought cowps was good, he spent most of the evening looking over his head, however made some solid tackles. Van den brook (sp) was just sat too deep, he has potential but at one point livesey (i think) headed the ball down to the right and the ball was moved on, vdb did nothing, I don't know if he was instructed to sit deep?
Jase was good, got stuck in and a bit nasty which is good, we need to be more aggressive.
Cook, superb. I think he's the only player who could step up to league 2. Held it, muscled it, and nailed the pen.
First half was a bore, first ten of the second was all barrow and I thought we would score 2/3 just in that period.
I guess everyone there was used to the imminent equaliser as I just stood thinking all will be well. But in all fairness the management team made a decision that helped. Arv on, grimes on to win the pen (very quick by the way) and defended well for what seemed a good 12 mins not 2!
It was good to see Meeks run over and fist pump. Good to get a win, a deserved win I think.
I think we are 2/3 players short of a very good team.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, well done the coach driver who went via Yorkshire!!

Good hard fought win tonight; our fans were amazing too. Several good performances tonight particularly from the strikers who worked tirelessly all night, G Williams put some great crosses over in the first half, Lacey was class - everyone played their part

Well following Barrow more often than not you have to expect the unexpected and that's what happened at Macclesfield. Not expecting too much after Saturdays first home defeat of the season, we played with grit and determination in the first half and probably edged the possession stats but both sides cancelled each other out to be honest.

Second half right from the off the game was played at a better tempo with us having the best chances Cook wasting a gilt edged opportunity then the Macclesfield keeper pulled off a great stop from another well connected Cook shot. Before Cook finally put us one up and sent the hundred plus bluebirds into delirium.
Sadly it was short lived as within two minutes it was all square as Macc hit us with numbers and their number eight finished well. Chances were a plenty for both sides, again we didn't get the rub of the green when Cook who was in the thick of the action all night was brought down unfairly in the box but the ref waved play on.
Grimes replaced Walker and ARH came on for Benji vdB and we were under the cosh for what seemed an age until a good ball found its way through to Grimes who was rounding the keeper and was cleared out.
Up stepped Cookie to strike home his second of the night from the penalty spot. We weathered a late onslaught to register our first away win of the season!

1st half - frenetic from both sides, nobody wanted to put their foot on the ball and construct something, it was all about trying to turn the full backs

2nd half - our football was better, Howarth was marauding around causing problems and we started putting together some decent combinations of short passing in their half. Disappointing to concede so soon after scoring ourselves but credit to the lads for coming back and winning it - we were worthy winners overall, imo. Wouldn't mind seeing the highlights to see the penalty shout on Cooky too.

My first away match for a while - I had forgotten the joys of an away win - driving away from the ground passing the locals trudging home with their heads hung low - lovely. Only half an hour drive home for me, and a Ska and Reggae special on radio 2 as well - happy days.
