Re: Carlisle
Neanderthal eh! What a lovely bunch of people you are in Barrow. I used to frequent the occasional Barrow game but find Carlisle people way more decent. Anyway, thanks for your kind comments and thanks for the three points.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:57 pmHe probably doesn't know what you mean by 'elucidate'Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:28 pm
Carlisle could fill the ground - of course Carlisle could. Amazing what a few wins have done.
seems daft they they're only getting 650 tickets Ridiculous isn't it that some football grounds do not have the capacity to accommodate infinite numbers of supporters when the alleged demand is there.
Can't the segregation be sorted? - clearly not.
otherwise, you know what's going to happen. - elucidate, old bean.
seems silly really. - very silly.
Perhaps capacities and facilities at our respective grounds reflect where we have both been over the past fifty or sixty years. I remember Carlisle being in Division One and now they are in Division 4 (old money). Barrow AFC was playing in the NPL and it is not that long ago that the supporters had to raise money to help get the ground back following an (allegedly) unscrupulous land deal. We are also now back in the same league as Carlisle and investment has already been put into a ground that is our home though which most recognise has, because of its age, many challenges to address. Brunton Park has the odd one or two, lest we forget..![]()
Ask him to make things clear. But he probably won't.
He was probably hinting at naughty things occuring between rival sets of fans. He comes from Milnthorpe, bless him.
And similar to Carlisle, the Neanderthal mentality thrives up there![]()

Re: Carlisle
Unlucky lads , after our visit yesterday I hope you get relegated so we never have to experience an away end like that again .
How the elf think that is acceptable is beyond me.
borderline dangerous.
And as for your supporters who the majority are still stuck in the 80’s

Watched green street far too many times , songs about dead Carlisle fans , throwing missiles , half don’t even watch the match they just go for trouble.
Everything about the day was non-league .
Poor show for a league club (for now)

It won't be long before there are no football league teams in the county so get used to the shit away ends .. personally I've never gone away for the facilities I go to support my team.Carlisle1970 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:17 am Unlucky lads , after our visit yesterday I hope you get relegated so we never have to experience an away end like that again .

Re: Carlisle
Why do you reckon we’ll go down with you ?
Re: Carlisle
Bingo. Forget about em gloating-their time will come sooner or later. They are at least six million quid in debt 'and' owe the Story family even more millions. I know it will be hard to swallow if we go down because we are in a relatively healthy financial position while Carlisle are up to their back teeth in debt but the way the economys going this will come back and bite Carlisle on the ar$e sooner or later.Bingo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:41 amIt won't be long before there are no football league teams in the county so get used to the shit away ends .. personally I've never gone away for the facilities I go to support my team.Carlisle1970 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:17 am Unlucky lads , after our visit yesterday I hope you get relegated so we never have to experience an away end like that again .

It has to be remembered that as far as the majority of Carlisle fans 'and' Radio Cumbria presenters who are in the main based in Carlisle are concerned, we were, and still are, seen as stepping on their toes by becoming another football league side in the county of cumbria. If we go down it'll be such a shame really the Irony being that given our relatively healthy financial position as compared to Carlisles overwhelming debts, I beieve we would have gone on to challenge for promotion in the coming seasons.

Re: Carlisle
To Carlisle1970
Although I agree with you that Barrow's ground needs a lot of improvements, please appreciate that we as a club have been outside the football league for 48 yrs and haven,t had a constant stream of money unlike Carlisle.
Most of the improvements to the ground,eg the Fan Zone have been helped through money raised by local supporters.
Barrow is at the beginning of improving it's ground and it will take time as we as a club haven,t got a bottomless pit of money.
I personally was looking forward to the game yesterday and was disappointed that our side didn't,t really show up on the day.
I would like to apologise for the neanderthals that abused you ,but every club has them and I experienced a similar experience when I travelled to Carlisle for the previous game.
We had some Carlisle supporters in the Popular End and nobody abused them.We both just wanted to see a game of football.
Personally I hope that both clubs survive to meet each other again next season and if we manage to stay in the league, the ground improvements will come.
We are all football supporters at the end of the day.

As soon as Paul Simpson finds out about Carlisles enormous debts, he'll not hang around there for long.

Re: Carlisle
Don’t know where your getting 6m from , we owe the local billionaire 2.4 and that’s it. Story waived his debt so that’s [SwearFilter] aswell.
You should ground share with dalton united that was a better little ground.

The club owes the Story's what will be at least six million quid right now without the other debtors. Story was willing to waive but was countermanded by the family. Radio Cumbria aren't fond of reporting on that are they!!.
