How did you get into Barrow AFC?
My dad used to run the door at the Bluebird club when I was a kid, I used to go and play in the 'big room', it was in the days before alarmed fire doors. I went through the fire doors one day and they went straight into Holker Street, from there I met up with my granddad and some mates of mine. I stopped going when my dad moved on from the door job, and started going back again in the mid nineties, never looked back since.
What was your first match?
Not sure what it was, but through talking to people I believe it was around 1978, we played a team in orange and won 6-0. Can't remember who we played, but Rob Rogers once told me who it was and I duly forgot.
How many times have you seen the team play?
I've watched us play loads of time, too many to quantify. And I plan on watching us play many, many more time too!
Do you travel to away games?
I'm not a religious traveller, but I have been known to pop up at a few away games here and there.
What does Barrow AFC mean to you?
I love the club, it means the world to me. I've done loads of different things at the club from helping on occasion with the ball-boys, worked with the BDF, sold programs, I do those next match posters that Russ Rawley emails out, I've ran quizzes in the Xbar. So you could say I'm a bit addicted!

Simple Answer is everything, They are my hometown team and You get a sense that your support actually matters when going to holker street rather than a big white elephant of a premiership ground

Current Would probably be mike pearson, Totally under rated with his performances and the way he has bounced back from his leg break against boro to being in my eyes our main defender has been superb. All time would have to be paul jones
Best game you have ever seen?
Tough one this one, so many to choose from with the 3-0 victory over oxford a highlight and the 2-1 win over mansfield aswell. Also the 1-0 in over boston to secure the Unibond title in 1998 but for me it has to be The FA Cup 4th qualifying replay at home to nuneaton. 3-0 down at half time and no1 giving us a chance in hell only for 4 goals in the 2nd half (3 of which in the last 5 mins) to secure an amazing fight back and victory. That was certainly a nervey but great day

Worksop Town in the NPL on 5th March 1978. Nothing like a 0-0 draw to wet the appetite!
How many times have you seen the team play?
Hundreds of times both home and away.
Do you travel to away games?
Yes, my first was at Altrincham on 5th March 1988 in the FA Trophy Quarter-Final and now I usually travel to away games on the ISC bus.
What does Barrow AFC mean to you?
Everything. I hate to miss any game and usually struggle to cope with the close season, more so this season!!!!!!

A lot really. The club is unique, we're not the best financially but we've stayed afloat even through slim chances of survival. When people who aren't local ask me who I support, they always go 'who?' and say we're crap because they haven't heard of us. But I think we're really on the footballing map. It gives me and the town a lot of pride, and it is a team to be proud of.

Absolutely no idea, some time around late 70's early 80's, a season or three before Vic Halom
How many times have you seen the team play?
Probably well over the 1000 mark
Best match ever seen?
Barrow 4 - 2 Barnet, the season after we sold Kenny Lowe to them, absolute classic game full of the best football and cliches
Do you travel to away games?
Only a handfull now, used to do 10/15 a season at least in my younger no committments days

A bit like Paul, it used to mean everything, hence things like the clubs crest tattoo'd on my chest, now though, after the last two or three seasons of "squeeky clean" and fan infighting, it means a hell of a lot less and diminishing all the time, even to the extent of pondering over a new tattoo to cover up the crest.

How did you get into Barrow AFC?
Old man took me when I was little
What was your first match?
Absolutely no idea, some time around late 70's early 80's, a season or three before Vic Halom
How many times have you seen the team play?
Probably well over the 1000 mark
Best match ever seen?
Barrow 4 - 2 Barnet, the season after we sold Kenny Lowe to them, absolute classic game full of the best football and cliches
Do you travel to away games?
Only a handfull now, used to do 10/15 a season at least in my younger no committments days
What does Barrow AFC mean to you?
A bit like Paul, it used to mean everything, hence things like the clubs crest tattoo'd on my chest, now though, after the last two or three seasons of "squeeky clean" and fan infighting, it means a hell of a lot less and diminishing all the time, even to the extent of pondering over a new tattoo to cover up the crest.
