Friday Fans Meeting with board over PC's takeover
Due to some matters which have arisen, the club regretfully has to delay its AGM. These matter have come to light recently and relate to some minor issues with the clubs constitution. These matters will need to be addressed at the next AGM and the clubs legal and financial advisors are working flat out to ensure the AGM can be held asap.
New notices will be issued on Monday with the new date and details of issues which need to be rectified.
The club, in place of the planned AGM, will be holding a fans Q&A session this friday at the Cross Bar starting at 7pm. This will be a chance for fans to quiz the board of directors following Paul Cassons open meeting. Its hoped that as many fans as possible will attend.

Re: AGM Postponed & replaced with Fans Meeting
To add to this, the issues that have been identified are not serious, but when the members vote on Paul Cassons proposals the constitution needs to be beyond reproach.

How many times now has this AGM been rearranged now Peter?

It looks like Mr Casson's proposition is a strong one and they want to make sure it stands a chance of being approved at the AGM rather than slip up on a technicality.
Understandable move.

This is the 2nd time. Its not ideal Stu and we'd rather not have to do it, but, we can't go ahead with it till we have made absolutely sure that the issues that have come to light have been sorted as they need to be ratified by the members.Van Der Nipper wrote:How many times now has this AGM been rearranged now Peter?

Re: AGM Postponed & replaced with Fans Meeting
I believe the notices will be going out on Monday, with a date set as the 28th of March.
I can only apologise for this - its not something the club wanted to do but we have to ensure that the constitution is watertight.
As for a financial update, i'm not sure this will be the forum for it as i think that Mr Casson's plans will be a big talking point. If anyone has any financial questions feel free to ask.

This isn't ideal & it does seem to be dragging on but the clubs directors will be only be trying to protect what we've got one way or another.
It's annoying but I'll settle for that rather than something being missed through just sticking to a date for the sake of it.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: AGM Postponed & replaced with Fans Meeting
The decision to rearrange was taken by the directors following advice given by myself. As part of the work done in connection with the approach from Paul casson issues with the clubs articles were identified by the club and also by individual members . Whilst it is not ideal to rearrange the meeting it is necessary to allow certain issues to be discussed and voted upon to ensure that any future vote on Paul cassons final proposal is a) valid & b) allows all members to participate.
Included in the notice are some proposed changes to the articles which are needed to clarify certain procedures ,these will be voted upon at the agm.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of this change of date.

Re: AGM Postponed & replaced with Fans Meeting
Thanks for the explanation Steve.
Makes sense to me.
Gives us time to listen to Casson then the board on Friday, bit of time to prepare for any takeover without it hitting some snag in our constitution and everyone crying foul and blaming the B.O.D.

Re: AGM Postponed & replaced with Fans Meeting
Without knowing the details, the delay and reasons for it seem reasonable to me.
Given that the proposed changes to the articles are going to be included in the new AGM notices that are being issued tomorrow, is it not possible for the details of those proposed changes (and reasons why they are required) to be posted here?

Re: AGM Postponed & replaced with Fans Meeting
Maybe the AGM should be replaced with a PGM or an OGM (as in periodic or ocasional)
