Sponsorship deals

Post by Adam29 » Fri Feb 27, 2015 10:36 am

From todays mail.

Furness building society have signed a new 3 year deal as stadium sponsor

Amatek are set to put pen to paper on a 1 year deal to sponsor the back of the shirt. No figures announced but believed to be a significant 4 figure sum.

RFM chartered accountants (formerly RF miller and co) are close to an agreement to be shorts sponsors for next season in a deal worth £2,500

With negotiations going well with coral regards them remaining as main shirt sponsors.

Steve casson has been set a goal to raise £80,000 in sponsorship revenue and is already around half way there with these dealings.

Nice to see some work now starting to show off the pitch

Great news on the stadium, all the others appear up in the air, although...

One article in the paper edition says RfM had signed (EDIT:agreed not signed) a deal for advertising on the shorts while the other said they were only close to signing a deal. I take they have and the other article is out of date before it was even printed?

Was handed a NWEM today and I had deja vu reading the two half page articles inside the back page, so many points repeated in both it was like watching one of those American TV shows that repeat themselves when they come back from an ad break just in case you have a short memory. :? Should have put it all in one article.

Not surprised after being told a few weeks ago that Coral were not happy with the club.

Could losing Coral be a blessing in disguise? If we can attact a shirt sponsor whose logo is allowed onto kids replica shirts then our younger supporters will be able to have exact copies of the first team shirt rather than one with a blank space where the sponsor's logo should be.

Let's be honest, they were always going to bail - they carried on the Chas Kendal deal for a while to keep a bit of "We're still local" feeling after the takeover, and now that people have got used to the idea of it being Coral rather than "local" Chas Kendal, they're out.

I can't see any other reason why they'd suddenly be "unhappy" with the club now that we're starting to show signs of success.

As a local company, the value of the shirt advertising would be less to Chas Kendall than it would be to Corals, who have offices across the country. It would be realistic, therefore, for Barrow AFC to expect more money from the deal, especially if we are playing at a higher level next season. Perhaps Corals thought that this was too much?

Or maybe they are unhappy because Paul Casson has a more lucrative sponsorship deal lined up, which Corals couldn't match?

I think it served Coral well to keep the deal rolling but things are changing now. I think with the club staring possible promotion in the face and the long term idea to be promoted to the league, maybe it was going to cost Coral more than they were prepared to payout. Do they have shirt sponsor deals with other football teams? It might simply not be their thing, so a change upwards in price and they opt out. (EDIT: Among other things their rivals Blue Square don't sponsor the conference leagues any more and they or their rivals don't look like they are coming back either, think this level is too much like small fry for these big earning companies. Thanks for carrying on the deal but guess we have to move on.)

Regarding the shirts, I didn't know that the sponsor could not be put on the kids shirts. We could probably do better if we didn't have that problem. I also know a few grown ups that didn't buy shirts when Chas Kendall went on it, they did not agree with betting.

Have you read the article? Maybe the extended deal couldn't be secured because agreement couldn't be reached, "company policy in terms of their sponsorship strategy" .....you know- normal stuff.

Important to get a name that fits what we trying to achieve. Three years with a poorly perceived brand is not going to shift shirts. Maybe we could go a season without shirt sponsorship.
