Re: Platt injury
So might see him on subs bench soon, before a full return.

Re: Platt injury
It always amazes me how no one ever asks David Dunn how long the players that are injured are likely to be missing also when is someone going to ask about the Burns situation? People on here may knock Radio Cumbria's James Phillips but he always comes across as someone who seems to know the full extent of Carlisle's injury list and for that matter every single coming and going at the club. In contrast Barrow fans learn the extent of the James Jones injury through the Altrincham forum. Somebody has mentioned that Matt Platt is back in training if that's true surely the Barrow media team should be reporting that. The more news about the club in the public domain the better it is for the club's profile. A bigger profile relates to more fans at games when they can finally return to stadiums.
Re: Platt injury
I’m sure it’s been said elsewhere that Dunn doesn’t like speaking about the injury’s so that other teams can’t plan around if a certain player will or won’t playColin Appleton wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 9:30 pm It always amazes me how no one ever asks David Dunn how long the players that are injured are likely to be missing also when is someone going to ask about the Burns situation? Re: Platt injury
Adam does ask on Radio Cumbria about injuries, Dunn never answers
Presumably the same happens when the new media manager asks him

Re: Platt injury
Nobody is asking him to disclose his starting lineup a week in advance, just a rough idea of how long injured players may be out for would be good. i.e. short-term, long-term, etc.
Literally every other club does this to keep the fans informed and involved.

Re: Platt injury
why the panic? Nearly all managers do it - just in different ways... Evatt used to lie bout how long someone would be out for... on more than 1 occasion he'd say player A would be back in 2 weeks then he'd suddenly be in the team at the weekend.
Lancashire;- born and bred
Re: Platt injury
Do we really need a new topic on something that is discussed on every match thread?
Popular side since '03.

Re: Platt injury
This is Ian Evatt an hour ago talking about Tom White:
“To be honest I was a bit angry about that one because I think Vela made three really poor challenges that should have been given yellows before the fourth one which was Tom White’s injury. I think if the ref books him he doesn’t make that tackle and Tom stays on the pitch and fully fit. It looks like a knee injury, possible medial ligaments so again it’s another one that’s going to go miss a lengthy period of time."
Updates like that would be nice to receive from Dunn and I'm sure that it wouldn't hand too much of an advantage to our upcoming opponents.

What’s the injury to James Jones ; we all saw what happened, but we don’t know what the prognosis or likely time out will be. We care for our players we want to know , in general terms at least , what’s going on.
I’m afraid saying nothing is just counterproductive in the sense that it alienates (at least some) fans. In the age of information keeping people generally informed is a good strategy IMO.
This is an area where we have, post Evatt, so far seen a step backwards in the club’s approach. It’s quite important and it can be easily rectified.

Re: Platt injury
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the club are doing fantastic with off field project’s etc but this is one area we are really poor at. We as supporters like every other teams supporters want to be kept informed of players injuries, availability. If people think it’s so opponents don’t know that makes me laugh, future opponents managers couldn’t give a flying fig wether platts playing or not.
