Squad strength
Squad strength
Couple of weeks to go, a chance perhaps for one or two more to come in and maybe one or two going the other way? As it stands right now do you think we have enough quality in a starting 11 and enough squad depth?
Are the key positions covered or are we still looking light in certain areas?
What you reckon?

Re: Squad strength
probably 3 players short at present;-
1) replacement striker
2) midfield enforcer
3) another centre back.

Re: Squad strength
Yes I guess we will know a little bit more on Sat about how he likes to set things up and the approach. For all we know he may be happy with his strike options.
To put the question into context- enough quality and squad depth to have a marked improvement on last term, ...certainly on the first half of the season. I think with a season under our belt, better prep and with an experienced Manager at the helm hoping to get off to a better start and a top half would be real progress.
I am still not sure about creativity but will see more on Sat.
Bring it on and with the backing of the crowd just cant wait for things to get going now.

Re: Squad strength
Jesus wept. It's pre season, it happens all the time, just to remind you. Mark Cooper is not a football fan, he is a very experienced manager. Been there and done it for years. A player or two will come in when HE sees fit. The same boring posters, post the same posts every season.Get outside and get some sun! It matters not one jot what anyone thinks, the manager with the support of the board will do all they can. I can still remember Frickley away !

What should be discussed on a football forum?GTBLUE wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 9:05 pm Jesus wept. It's pre season, it happens all the time, just to remind you. Re: Squad strength
I expect a couple more may come in another striker probably once wage demands drop a bit when players are scrambling for a club, MC is a seasoned manager at these things not worried at all unlike last season.
Maybe a loan signing or two to bolster the squad as well a bit further down the line.

Yes its very odd isn’t it, to discuss the Barrow team with fellow fans on a Barrow forum. Just do not post if it doesn't hold interest to you.GTBLUE wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 9:05 pm Jesus wept. Still lacking a creative midfielder & another Forward.

I’d like to see the dirty midfielder added to the squad and the obvious number 9. None of the lads we have up top fit the bill as a big target man, they’re all fast nippy forwards, we need that option of hit the 9 and get around him too.
