Cameron Archer
Can we get this guy on loan, he knows his game and how to finish. Could be good for his schooling.

Re: Cameron Archer
I’m sure there will be plenty of interest after that, probably from clubs higher up sadly
Exactly the type of forward Cooper has mentioned a few times that he would like though, a youngster on loan from a higher club keen to prove himself

Re: Cameron Archer
Yes archer was class , but he had plenty of service from his midfield .
If he played for us , he would be getting every up and under , side ways passes apart from to his feet
Look at zinzala ? Class worked very hard but never had any through balls to run on to . Ellis was found out tonight very slow with no protection need platt back ?
Taylor was shocking tonight yards away from the play same as Gordon very poor
Banks ,Hutton zinzala only pluses from this game against Villa third team

Re: Cameron Archer
Can't deny the lad looked useful tonight, however as others have mentioned he had plenty of quality service up against a tiring side.
His record at Sollihull 4 in 26. I'm sure Cooper will have someone lined up to come in before the window closes.

Re: Cameron Archer
Pretty much agree with all of that although it was certainly better than a Villa third team as at least 6 of those players were first team squad players even if only 1 would have been in their best 11. IMO, there are only 5 players who played tonight up to the level needed and that's the 3 you named 3 plus Brough and White. However, Hutton is an out and out wing back and great though he is going forward he can't defend. Therefore, we have to play a back 3 and IMO we must have Platt in the centre of the 3 with James Jones on the right and Grayson or Nthle on the left. Ideally, I'd have Brough as the left central defender but he's needed as the left wing back. With Banks, White and a fit Devitt in central midfield and Zanzala up front with another decent loan striker it wouldn't be a bad team. Also, there is the possibility that Sea could improve into a decent player given time.Philippinodoctor1961 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 11:52 pm Yes archer was class , but he had plenty of service from his midfield .

Re: Cameron Archer
That 4 in 26 is a little misleading as he was sub for quite a few of those games. Also, one thing that struck me from seeing him last night was how much he had filled out compared to last season; literally going from a boy's physique to looking more like a man's physique. Last season was designed to help build him up and get used to the hard knocks in the pro-game. (We similarly have youth players in the National league this season and a few around League Two for the same reason).
Archer's game is usually based on running at players but with better players around him (like last night) he doesn't need to do that as much. We actually have a 'Loans manager' (Mile Jedinak) whose job it is is to match the player with the right club for them in terms of how they and the potential loaning club, play and how the player would be able to develop within the right system. So, it won't be as straightforward as 'go and get Archer' as our homework will similarly be done. That said, he does need to go out somewhere.

Re: Cameron Archer
Him and Zanzala would certainly be a handful. I liked his constant probing and rushing of the keeper. Youthful, energetic and hungry.
Would he have that energy if he wasn’t getting the same quality of service around him. Only time would tell I suppose.

Re: Cameron Archer
Agreed he looked useful but so to did some of the other villa players many of which won’t make the 22 man squad so I wouldn’t get hung up on just Archer because he got 3 goals but do you think villa will want to send their players to somewhere where they can’t train on a grass pitch
Re: Cameron Archer
There isn't a club in the world, who'll have done their homework, and loan us a player... Especially after the manager has been on national TV and bemoaned our training facilities!

Re: Cameron Archer
Apart from Hull City, who loaned us Arthur (after Cooper had previously complained about the facilities and also after Bobby burns had criticised the club!)
Re: Cameron Archer
The point is, it's now gone on Sky Sports, BBC Sport and in the national press... It'll massively detract from players agreeing to their loan moves. Having a moan on BBC Cumbria and on the club's iFollow is a very different kettle of fish! Surely you can see that!

Re: Cameron Archer
You having a laff? From what I saw last night he'll be playing Premier League Football very soon. Not sure if it was he - or one of their other young starlets - that was was snatched from Ajax. Players like that don't come here
