I've personally had enough of listening to drums in football stadiums. They bring absolutely nothing to improve the atmosphere. Last night at Accrington the constant drumming was hateful, I'm sure their fans could have created a similar atmosphere without one. Bradford City is the same. I've seen that some clubs have actually banned them, is this something our club could do? I'd hate to see one in the Holker End.

I remember a lad bringing a drum into the Holker End once back in our original league days. The difference was that he could actually play it properly though I only recall it appearing once. The experience last night was a shocker (and that was on iFollow) and whilst not wishing repetitive strain injury upon anybody....

If we could have had Neil Peart as a drummer I’d have willingly bought him a season ticket. God rest the great man.

Have always found the acceptance of a drum in a crowd in todays socially responsible society rather strange. Footballs authorities seem to still fall on the side of seeing it as part of tradition rather than a great advert for noise abatement enforcement.

Suggest we test this theory further by asking Barrow Aberdeen to start using a set of bagpipes during key moments in future games.

The drum was the only atmosphere Accrington provided to be fair, their fans weren’t very vocal. That said they are the worst think in a football ground and should be banned

Mellowed to this down the years- If it improves the atmosphere then why not? Seen it at grounds and it can lead the crowd after a goal or when on the attack- but not constant for 90 minutes.

Goal music found its way in and think it’s now widely joined in around the ground.

A subject I don’t want to bang on about but anyone bringing a drum to Barrow AFC should be told to beat it up the road.
No doubts Stockport will be drumming up their enthusiasm this Saturday They very rarely add any atmosphere anywhere, best suited when they are sounding out a death beat for the gallows.

Hate to say it but look at what Carlisle have done with the Warwick Road End; Club encouraged young lads to improve the atmosphere, loads of flags etc whereas as we try our best to discourage people from making the HS end into a proper noisy home end (bouncers on there, the under 16’s thing etc)

I’m not saying a drum is the answer but as has been pointed out, the atmosphere at home is absolutely shocking. Can’t remember going to any away game the last few years and it being as quiet as Holker St is. Not sure what the answer is but we need somehow to make it feel like a home game and as uncomfortable and intimidating for the away team as possible. We have one of the smallest grounds in the league where supporters are so close to the pitch. It needs utilising better. Oh and whose idea was it it play that slowed down version of the tune the players come out to? It was absolutely bloody awful. How the hell is that meant to inspire the players or crowd for that matter?

The flags and music of the ‘Ultras’ a few seasons back certainly made it more atmospheric and I know this has been mentioned before but can they be revived by the new younger element? This under 16s rule (whatever it is about) is certainly not helping matters and I do think it’s about time the club made a clear statement in the public domain that they want all ages and groups of supporters to get themselves to Holker St, as long as they behave in a reasonable manner! Going back to flags and the ones that were previously hung up at the back of the Holker St end? They were up in clear view at the charity cricket match on Friday only not to been seen on Saturday .

According to the “out of the blue” podcast the new walk out music was the choice of the players
