Re: John Shalamo
We seem to have had a succession of these 'Mystery Men' in recent times and the ordinary man-or-woman-on-the-terraces usually wonders what the hell was that all about? whether you actually saw them in the flesh or not. I don't know what's going on either but suspect illegal immigration is at the heart of it. We should be told.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: John Shalamo
If you want to migrate illegally passing yourself of as a footballer seems unlikely to work. Surely it's been on the basis of making money on some of them.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 11:25 am We seem to have had a succession of these 'Mystery Men' in recent times and the ordinary man-or-woman-on-the-terraces usually wonders what the hell was that all about? whether you actually saw them in the flesh or not. Also a couple of sites say John is Swedish, if correct he could migrate legally I assume.

He is Swedish ,looks are deceptive look at Farage hardly a British name and his forefathers came here to escape persecution who would have thought that.StephenD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 12:29 pmIf you want to migrate illegally passing yourself of as a footballer seems unlikely to work. As one aborigine said to me it's a bugger this illegal migration look what happened to us with all those boats coming over.

If we can't afford a b team or an academy development squad it makes sense that every player on the books should be available for selection.. not farmed out to other teams in the hope that they will come good in the future.
Seems like some prudent decisions are being made with a view to developing a fully functioning cohesive squad. The quality of incoming players will be yhe acid test of this theory.
Letting these players go seems sensible to me.

We have to move some on before we can bring anyone in. At the moment it’s three out two in. We simply can’t afford a bigger squadRushy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 1:04 pm If we can't afford a b team or an academy development squad it makes sense that every player on the books should be available for selection.. not farmed out to other teams in the hope that they will come good in the future.

Re: John Shalamo
For me the biggest mystery was the signing of Courtney Baker Richardson. Did he ever pull on a Barrow shirt? Yet seems to have scored goals wherever he has played.

Wintergreen's tongue was very firmly in his cheek when he wrote that, I would suggest. I suppose humour on fora sometimes loses its way with some readers, when emojis are omitted.

No, picked up an injury in his first training session and then was sent out on loan to Barnet to get game time and fitness and never returnedBorobasedfan1 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 2:46 pm For me the biggest mystery was the signing of Courtney Baker Richardson. Re: John Shalamo
Another pointless Iain Wood experiment, more money down the drain that could’ve been spent on adding to a better all round strikers package
