Permutations
OK I think we have all settled for the fact that we will be going down, but it's still mathematically possible for us to stay up.
What exactly do we - and other teams - need to do to keep us up?

Re: Permutations
We need to win, Crawley and Harrogate both need to lose. Oh there needs to be an 8 goal swing because Crawley’s GD is 8 better than ours after Saturday. But we’d need score one more than Crawley because we’ve currently both scored same number of goals. So, if we win 5-0 and they lose 3-0 - and Harrogate lose too - we’ll be fine.
I think.
The chances of all that happening are, of course, somewhere between ‘fat’ and ‘f*** all’.

Re: Permutations
We might as well TRY and win 5-0, will make for an entertaining spectacle.

Re: Permutations
It’s not happening. Seriously doubt we can beat Newport. We’ve done nothing against all the other awful sides in this division, proving we are the worst of the lot, which is where we will finish.
The majority of these so called ‘players’ don’t care. They don’t. If they did, they’d show it. They haven’t. Good riddance to many of them after Saturday. Hopefully the mercenaries who remain with us will be out too soon enough.
We need a strong experienced manager going forward, who can build his own team from scratch and give us a team to be proud of again. That’s what we deserve.

Re: Permutations
No chance of 5-0 even if they tried. There’s more chance of us losing 0-5.
Re: Permutations
The irony would be we somehow score 4 and salford spank Crawley then Harrogate score a 99th minute winner and send us down

I’ll be genuinely surprised if we have 5 shots on targetAugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 9:04 pm No chance of 5-0 even if they tried. There’s more chance of us losing 0-5.

We haven’t had 5 shots on target in any match at home this year.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 9:14 amI’ll be genuinely surprised if we have 5 shots on targetAugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 9:04 pm No chance of 5-0 even if they tried. There’s more chance of us losing 0-5.
Last time was when we lost 2-1 to Cheltenham on Friday 19th December.

Re: Permutations
There's every chance that Salford could put 8 goals into Crawley. The question is whether we can score more goals than own goals.

Re: Permutations
No there isn't! The only team Salford can catch above them is Cambridge which has a 23 better goal difference. Also all the teams below Salford who could go higher in the playoffs have a goal difference far, far better. The only thing Salford will be interested in is winning and if they go a couple of goals ahead they won't be trying to score any more!Always Ultra wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 9:45 am There's every chance that Salford could put 8 goals into Crawley. Re: Permutations
Flashscore has us down as relegated already. I'm still hoping for a miracle
Re: Permutations
I think at this point (and I don’t think I’d be the only one) I’ll be absolutely losing my shit at the end on Saturday if we put in a performance, win 3 or 4 nil and go down by 2 or 3 goals than I would be us going down showing as much flight as we’ve shown the rest of the season!

Re: Permutations
The lazy shirkers among them won’t be able to compete against Newport, who have recently clearly shown a fighting spirit and determination to stay up.Gazza wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2026 6:43 pm I think at this point (and I don’t think I’d be the only one) I’ll be absolutely losing my shit at the end on Saturday if we put in a performance, win 3 or 4 nil and go down by 2 or 3 goals than I would be us going down showing as much flight as we’ve shown the rest of the season!
Expecting a few of our ‘players’ to have ‘knocks’ or ‘strains’ come Saturday. Who is missing will tell its own story.
