Re: Wood Gone
Considering how much the board stuck up for him at the Q&A night and how fantastic they told us he was that is some statement … The double decker must’ve arrived

Re: Wood Gone
Wood was a complete disaster. Had to go .
Re: Wood Gone
First step in the right direction. Clear change of heart from the Meet the Board night from the tone of the statement- rightly so!

Re: Wood Gone
It would seem that over a prolonged period the board took their collective eye off the club and gave Wood pretty much free rein . He mucked it up and got found out . Unfortunately , the damage was clearly done. Whing was a disastrous appointment saved initially only by Clemence’s recruitment in the Jan 25 window. To drop so far so quickly underscores the level of incompetence. I feared in November when Whing seemed to be having a melt down that we’d go down . And we did .
The humble pie may take some digestion but I’m pleased we’ve addressed this problem at last . Mr Wild will no doubt be having a little smile on his holidays.

Re: Wood Gone
As I said on another thread dispense withthe position of DOF - which Wood was before elevated to the Board and position of CEO.
Let a new MANAGER manage!

Re: Wood Gone
What can they say ?
Let's hope they start looking at recruitment in a vigorous way for whatever position.
The Board are decent but as seen very naive.
We have been a breeding ground for charlatans.
Need to stop recruiting off Blackpool beach.
If you have a record of injury we don't want you.
Look at our players I've seen faster movement in a old peoples home.
Dino had a work ethic probably dated but he was best of the bunch.
Gallagher on the touch line look like he was directing traffic in the desert.
Whing pleasant but not really tried and he was decent just not up to it.
Money can help but recruitment is the key.
Carlisle bought two teams got relegated and then failed to get promoted..
We should be looking at a Luke Garrad style.
We keep recruiting wide boys .
A proper clear out required.

Re: Wood Gone
Always worried about Wood when he admitted he had no plan B in recruiting Wild. The circumstances of his departure then seemingly he had no plan and panicked to give it to Clemence who had failed at League 2 already. Whing showed promise initially but recruitment and a squad overhaul hampered him and in the end ms was out of his depth. Even then when we did finally sack him there was no real plan and it’s been a disaster ever since.
Kouyate is still on the books we have Wood to thank for that one and as much as Wood and Harvey failed, the owners have to take their share of the blame too, they allowed it to happen when everyone else on the terraces could see it wasn’t working and we were regressing. About 12 months too late if not more.

Re: Wood Gone
A bit harsh on Clemence , I’d say. Mid table with Gills- not a success but hardly a failure .
Re: Wood Gone
It had to be done, but that statement is as blunt as a vipers nose and lacks any sort class whatsoever.
