Re: Mikey Lane
The 19-year-old signed his first professional contract for the Cods in 2025 having been a regular feature for the Fleetwood Town Academy.
The 2022/23 season saw him finish the campaign as lead goalscorer for both the under-16s and under-18s.
Last season, Lane joined National League North side Hereford FC and enjoyed his first taste of men's professional football.
On loan till January

Re: Mikey Lane
Striker. Not the experienced quality I was
hoping for but least he’ll be hungry and hopefully can make the step up in men’s football.

Re: Mikey Lane
I think we have been there before regarding experienced strikers, so a young hungry striker may be just what is needed. I would say that with Lane and Mooney we have added goals potential to the squad.

Re: Mikey Lane
Quietly optimistic about this. Fleetwood have a great academy set up and personally I prefer a young lad trying to find his way in the game than a journey man whos there for a payday. Ask Hereford fan what they make of him. Cult hero for keeping them up

Re: Mikey Lane
Good luck to him hope he does well.
Shame we’ve never set anything up where we take the best of local talent and mould them. I think had we done that we would still be a football league club. Anyway that’s in the past and the past doesn’t predict the future.
The culture with the town some of the fans and the football club has always been quite negative let’s hope the latest manager can say [SwearFilter] to that

How many of the best local talent have appeared in the EFL in the last 10 years, can forum members name them apart from the Newby brothers and Stanway who else made it.
