Years ago on previous league days we used to keeps count of how many goals were scored and we had a preference to attack that end first

I think attacking the steelworks end saw the most goal scored or. maybe we will see someone will say Holket st.

I have no idea what the stats show for goals scored at either end, whether it be recent years or across the 125 years. Personally though, I would always want to play towards the Holker Street End in the second half whenever possible. As the clock ticks into the second half I would always look for the Holker Street roar to suck the ball into the net and perhaps decide a tight match for us. Plus, more often than not, the hoolie is blowing that way and I prefer to see us grit the teeth and face the wind in the first half, try to survive, and then launch an onslaught with the wind at our backs as we lay siege to the Holker Street goal in the second period.

PJ, just to correct you there, we haven't been at Holker Street for 125 years. We spent the first few years at places like The Strawberry Ground, Ainslie Street, and Little Park at Roose. So, the Holker Street/ Steelworks End choice has not been going on for 125 years, more like 117 years I think.
