The fantastic article from the programme is reproduced on the club's website.

Well done, Programme Editor!

Thanks that was a great read, I always like Ferris a skillful tricky winger who barring injuries would certainly have gone on to have a decent career at a much higher level

Still got 'The boy on the shed' on my bookshelf. Never forget his debut at Witton's old ground when he went round Barrow fans asking if he had made an impressive impression. A fantastic life coming through all them troubles and has overcome illness to have a football career,a KC figure and now an important author.

Loved Paul's first two books especially. The Boy On The Shed.

I'm sure I read somewhere that his dad took him to the corner street pub on a Sunday night when he was about 14 just to join in the convo - no drinks.

One Sunday for some reason they couldn't go, and it was that same night the IRA bombed the pub.

A great read. Paul Ferris seems to be a remarkable and resourceful lad to have overcome the setbacks and problems he has encountered along life's path.
