I don't get the bit on the web site where it says the snow will now be left on the pitch for insulation below a photograph of the snow having been cleared from the pitch. Have they put it all back again?

Aforementioned friend's parents have just arrived back in Barrow after dropping him off. It's still absolutely fine, not even slow going, never mind treacherous.audigex wrote:A friend of mine just drove Barrow-Newcastle via Carlisle to go back to uni. Said it was absolutely fine.
Also, I can't be the only one who remembers having a wee in the snow at the side of the A69 on the way back from Sunderland. It didn't seem to stop us. The A69 is dead straight for 90% of it's length, there's nothing to crash into.

“Football's not a matter of life and death ... it's more important than that,”Bingo wrote:Why do they have to be so dramatic on the official site - human life more important than a football - true of course but come on the main roads are clear - trains are running there's no threat to human life other than the everyday risks of life itself - we all thought like you'd never leave the house

Careful Story. You obviously had too many snow days with that spelling. Thing is you wouldn't sue your boss if you fell in the snow - most parents would.Ste Story wrote:Always dubious about the old "can't travel" and "travel chaos" excuses whenever it snows - fair enough being court in a blizzard out of nowhere you may struggle, but all the main roads are well treated and driven on and everyone else will be going about their commutes as normal to be honest...
I thought it was just an excuse for teachers to have a day off school? [SwearFilter] knows what would happen if I tried to tell my boss I wasn't going to work because of a bit of snow.
Back to the game being off - wimps. Learn to drive.
