Re: Heard on the grapevine
If we do that then we should prepare ourselves for a few more relegations over the next few seasons. When Barrow are playing away I watch quite a bit of local football and can't think of many players who could make the step up of around 5 or 6 tiers of the pyramid.tommy2thumbs wrote:Time to bring in the locals then

Agreed, certainly I didn't expect many to stay.A.B. wrote:Surely we all expected most of them to be gone in the close-season anyway?
Re: Heard on the grapevine
That doesn't change the fact that the ones who signed pre-contract agreements with other clubs and then withheld the information, I suspect from the club and definitely the fans are massive cunts.Jim wrote:Agreed, certainly I didn't expect many to stay.A.B. wrote:Surely we all expected most of them to be gone in the close-season anyway?

Aye, don't agree with the way they've gone about it.Reg wrote:That doesn't change the fact that the ones who signed pre-contract agreements with other clubs and then withheld the information, I suspect from the club and definitely the fans are massive cunts.Jim wrote: Agreed, certainly I didn't expect many to stay.

I would have had little objection if they haven't been getting paid regularly and had been up front about it.A.B. wrote:Aye, don't agree with the way they've gone about it.Reg wrote: That doesn't change the fact that the ones who signed pre-contract agreements with other clubs and then withheld the information, I suspect from the club and definitely the fans are massive cunts.
Don't blame them for trying to get themselves sorted. Just be a [SwearFilter] man about it and let people know, so they can make a decision whether you should be in the side/supported, or not.

Exactly, can't disagree with that Reg.Reg wrote:I would have had little objection if they haven't been getting paid regularly and had been up front about it.A.B. wrote: Aye, don't agree with the way they've gone about it.

Re: Heard on the grapevine
I was not condoning their behaviour, (rats and sinking ships), it was just fairly obvious that only those who wouldn't be able to get another BSP club, or a better paid job at BSN level would stay - with the possible exception of the small handful of players who are decent, honest and genuinely committed to this club.Reg wrote:That doesn't change the fact that the ones who signed pre-contract agreements with other clubs and then withheld the information, I suspect from the club and definitely the fans are massive [SwearFilter].Jim wrote: Agreed, certainly I didn't expect many to stay.

The sooner they clear off the better. Would only be sorry to see Skelton & Hurst go.

Re: Heard on the grapevine
This has been the most [SwearFilter] and un-memorable(?) squad I have known. I've forgotten most of them already. History. Move on.

We've been dreadful all season
Re: Heard on the grapevine
just a shame that Boyce was surrounded by too many who lacked the taste for battle.Hopefully lonenees will be a thing of the past too.Never really expected too much from the game today.A shame that was the case again. For effort, ruthers, Skelts, Flynn , O'donnell and Hurst 100 pc.att was decent for this game imo.Could have been so much worse on a sunny evening.Holkerbird wrote:We have lost better players than these in the past and survived.
The sun is shining and this terrible season is coming to an end so I feel quite upbeat today.
Seasons to be cheerful.Part 16 3/4
