Well done!
Yeah, a few of us were talking about this before Christmas barrowfan, as you say - a nice milestone & about 14k + raised by supporters, the NSC & local business's not to mention all the tools & equipment that has been donated :D

Mark Mc, I haven't seen the scaffolding yet but mrssenorita text me & said it's just what we've been after - thanks.

Finbar17, you haven't got back to me yet, will you be down Sunday morning?

Looking like a really good numbers for Sunday but there is always plenty to do so a few more wouldn't go amiss :)

Really good turnout this morning with plenty being done.

Ian red van joiner & Peter Nichols cracked on with the press box upgrade by putting more of the frameworks in, including the first ceiling panel - nothing major but just a little milestone that shows how things are progressing.
Ian (RVJ) also helped John M with the doors to the disabled shelter which seem to have swollen & were sticking a bit, they had to take it off & plane it back.

John M put the new lock on the cellar door which another director had broken by not so gently trying to open it with a hammer!! No names mentioned but he's the one who works in a bank.
John also helped out with a few of the new signs that had to go up & he did some temporary repairs to one of the turnstile roofs that had blown off. We'll have to get back to some of the turnstiles as they've really took a battering the last couple of years by the weather.

Ian white van joiner was still working on the shuttering for the concrete base for the new toilets when we left & doing a far better & quicker job than we could of done. We'll look at ordering the cement shortly.

Myself & mrsenorita played with some of the boys toys :D We used the Sthil saw for cutting the lines in on Vaughans car park then mrsenorita appeared with his white saftey helmet on with ear defenders attached & cradling the new jack hammer, like a man possessed he attacked the tarmac (I thought he was going to end up in the Tally Ho car park)
We actually hit the original brickwork from what must have been part of the old stand, although I can't really remember it going back that far - either way, it'll been some time since them bricks will have seen daylight.

Steve Patten mentioned to me yesterday that the away directors door looks as though it's been tampered with by screws being removed from the handle casing, this was also fixed today. Seems to be a constant battle fixing things people have tried to break or get into at the ground.

Whitty 1969 connected the new light in the GMA & sorted the conduit that carries the cables for the turnstiles on Wilkie Rd, this had to come down for now as the car park wall will start to get dismantelled within the next couple of weeks so we can re-use the blocks for the wall & new toilets.

Exile was supposed to be in charge of Whittys Daughter on litter picking duty but apparently Emma took charge after about five minutes, so already learning what women do when they get older
Exile also said he learnt a new word "mingy" but said he thinks she was on about the litter & hoped it wasn't meant to be describing him!!

Andy & Andy (seriously) carried on with the covering of the players tunnel, they've put most of the sheets up that will cover the bottom half & will then look at getting the perspex fitted on the top half. It's looking pretty good even though it's not finished, they've also supplied all the materials themselves which has obviously saved us a tidy amount.

Daz Curtis (college tutor) came down to check on the scaffolding to make sure everything is in place for his students to make a start next week on the car park wall.
On that note, thanks very much to Mark Mc for supplying the scaffolding, just what we needed & again saving us money.

Special mention to Chris (and Layla, his Daughter) who isn't a supporter but loaned us his Stihl saw & supplied the new blade & fuel.

All in all, a really productive morning with plenty done.

Just to correct you, i didn't try to open it with a hammer, I succeeded!

Only had an hour and a half today down the ground but with a bit of organisation and a great bunch of lads Ian RVJ, Spirit, Exile, Bigcod Mike Andy and myself
....loads got done

The g and s sign was taken down off the outside of the holker end along with bargain booze sign to make way for 2 new sponsors, little subs and starlight karaoke

The starlight sign went up despite being high up in an awkward position, some long ladders and speed screws did the trick.

Andy carried on with the tunnel plates but just wished he, cut them 10 mm shorter and 2 plates were cut with a grinder to suit along the full length but nearly all the galvo ones on now just leaving the Perspex to the top....fans should be able to return to the tunnel area on completion if the powers that be are satisfied with the work

Peter exile and Bigcod took the first sections of the portable segregation up the Holker end to check the angles and lo and behold, Mike Forsyth turned up and confirmed the positions these need to go in at...the angles looked ok on the bottom 2 sections so Peter marked with blue paint where the 4 holes will be needed.
Mike also confirmed the appropriate method of joining the top and bottom sections leaving the walkways free

Ian RV joiner carried on with the Press box setting it up for the next phase and Gareth was down doing the pitch for tomorrows clash of the titans
Not much time for chit chat or rumours as it was soon 2.00pm although Andy and Mike stayed down longer. Cracking little sesh!!!!!

For those interested, there'll be a visit to the ground this Sunday (16th) with a 9:00 am start, although feel free to turn up at any time that suits you best.

As usual, loads to do -

Press box.
Shuttering for the cement base.
Altering the counter in the new shop.
Painting (first aid room)
Assembling the garage.
Lighting in the GMA.
Removal of scrap metal.
Players tunnel cover.
Rebuilding the wind damaged wall.
Odds & ends in the GMA.
General ground clean-up.
Signs to come down & others to go up.
Vaughans car park wall to start taking apart, although we should have some college lads starting that.
Advice on plumbing for the two new toilet blocks.

There's got to be something there for everyone hasn't there?

Apparently TK was having a look around the ground yesterday & it doesn't look like there's been any damage apart from something off one of the floodlights.

Sunday morning from 9:00am will still be on for those that want to put a few hours in. You don't need any particular skill - just turn up & there'll always be people that you can help out that are perhaps half way through doing a job. As a matter of fact, that's the sort of help we're short of, just people to help others that are in mid jobs.
If you can help out a post, PM, e-mail or text will help us know what we can crack on with. If you wake up without a hangover & it's a spur of the moment decision & you just turn up that's absolutely fine as well.

Looking like a half decent turn-out so far.
