Went in had a jimmy and then went to the Red Lion after seeing what they were serving!!!! They would of had to give me £2 to drink a pint of John Smiths

Its the figure you'd get if you added up all the prices for a ale and larger and divided it up by the number of prices you had, but that's not important right now x

Hi rondog I'm Ipswich based so don't have the travel headaches that the northern based barrovians do. I personally am expecting around 400 to make the jounrey we have a an excellent away following- took 7000 to Middleborough a few years back. Any tips o away friendly pubs that we can frequent?

The Stanford Arms, a couple of minutes from the ground has its devotees, as does the
Triangle, a good range of real ales. The Havelock is well situated opposite the main entrance to Crown Meadow and the Rose at the rear of the ground can be worth a visit.

In the centre of town there is the usual range of plastic pubs, notably the Weatherspoons
Joseph Conrad, but I would urge all fans of real ales to sample the Trawlerboys Ale in the
Clubhouse. Big screen showing Premiership lunchtime game and all the usual amenities will
be available in the Clubhouse.

I worked in Lowestoft in 2011 and return about twice a year and yes the triangle is very good

the blues is £2 for strongbow, thats more like it

There's a Wetherspoons by the Railway Station which isn't too bad for ale. It's about 10 mins walk to the ground.
Triangle Tavern is the brewery tap for Green Jack Ales. It's about 7 mins walk to the ground.
Best pub is the Stanford Arms, it's listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide as the brewery tap for Green Jack but is now a free house and has at least 10 hand pumps on. 3 minutes walk to the ground.
Oak Tavern and Mariners Rest aren't too far away, both have a few decent ales.
There are several other pubs quite close but I wouldn't describe them as real ale pubs.

Theres 4 of us going down in a car Friday and staying in Norwich Fri then great Yarmouth sat.
