If a player from say the greater Manchester area was offered 1k a week by us and Macclesfield, unless we sold 'the dream' very well, I don't think we would be first choice.
There obviously isn't a huge market of players in our area, and we might be a more appealing choice for them if there were.
We aren't a big club in this league.

Anyway, as ive said before, we should be consolidating, not trying to splash out on players like Rhead, recipe for absolute disaster.

I find it hard to believe any lowest level Professional Player even considers what the clubs town or city has to offer, It's all about what the Club has to offer.

Getting to and from Training & playing will be a factor but these days of super comfortable cars & modern highways mean it's way better than it used to be when we were last a FT club & attracted players from wherever, Living in the Lakes or around the Bay/Preston area's is not really an issue getting to & from BIF.

It can take just as long sitting in traffic during rush hour getting from one side of the NW to the other than driving to BIF with light traffic for the vast majority of the journey, you just spend more time driving then crawling along.

Money is important but isn't the bee all & end all, IMO A club on a mission, building and gaining momentum, providing a winning & a platform to success is a far better option to dozens of others limping along going nowhere, ATM we only have the vision to sell to future players but is based on some facts & will become an easier sell over time as it becomes a reality than plan or vision, It's getting the right type in now to help us get there onthefield & P Casson can help this process by beginning the ground redevelopment to show "Football" that he is serious.

Barrow AFC a few season ago had a reputation of not paying players!

Our location is our biggest hurdle when we try to bring players in. I don't see how people dont recognise this.

Its clear to see youve not been to Barrow in a while. Ever tried getting through Lindal when its flooded?

Super comfy cars? How much have they changed in 3 years? Hahaha what are you on about Mike? Im concerned.

If you worked in Barrow and got offered the same money from the same sort company but had to move away to Manchester then you just simply wouldn't do it.

Paul Cox has a very hard job convincing players to come to Barrow. Especially higher standard players who have offers closer to home.

I still firmly beleive the ground redevelopment isnt happening till we are in the football league where we will have access to grants.

In my opinion he's a really good player. Has pace and runs intelligently off the ball.

Makes me wonder if we are in for anyone. We are the only National league team to not make a permanent signing in this window

Nice to see we've still got a good relationship with Carlisle. Wouldn't surprise me if we weren't the National League side turned down by Curle for a couple of their players mentioned earlier in this thread.
PS. My mistake . Didn't know he'd already left Carlisle for Yeovil. Need to get out more.
